I’m not at all convinced we’re better than the past two years.

Also no plan to make Rutgers pay for pressing full court. Just dribble dribble dribble , praying to get past half court in time. I was coached to break these presses with less dribbling and more passing.

Epps is no point guard.

More than anything m this is not a very talented team. I actually think they are reasonably well coached. Our center is a bottom tier BE starter. Fielder is a hustler and may eventually develop into a real player …but for now he’s a defensive liability without much of a shooting touch. Styles is a good athlete but without great skills and Epps clearly intended to take every shot down the stretch , regardless of the fact that Brombaugh is a much better shooter Than him. If Massoud can shoot as advertised and we can reign in Epps, I do think we’ll be better than last year and steal a few wins due to having a professional coach.

Much ado about nothing. Time for the actual season to start. Then everyone, including me, can criticize all we want.

I’ll be fine if Epps averages 46 ppg this season!

I would prob pick Reggie, but a little surprised no mention of a certain potential Answer to this question.. It seemed like the question was focused on the three point shot. Obviously AI could make them...but not sure it was strongest part of his Hall OF Fame game?

Unfortunately, some of our greatest scorers from the glory days, either didn't play with the three point shot, or didn't utilize it much, as part of our offense. Clearly, if you needed a hoop in crunch time, you couldn't go wrong with Sleepy or Reggie, or for that matter going back further, John Duren, who would have been an excellent pro if not for his knee injuries. Michael Jackson was amazing in clutch time, too. But its hard to recall how many of their shots were really from the three point line. Reggie played with the three for only one year, shooting 38%. So from three, I'd say Jon Wallace, as well, with honorable mention to Hollis Thompson, who also happens to be one of the 76ers all time leading three point shooters!

Apologize if this wasn’t meant as a shot at the kid. He hasn’t played a minute and he’s being compared to an all time terrible hoya. I love his game think he’s going to be our starting pg this year. Still amazed by desire of many here to trash Primo. He did what Ewing wanted him to do…or he wouldn’t have played 38 minutes a game. Quite Far from our best pg ever, but I felt he played hard, had a very good midrange game and had a solid handle. Without trashing others, we’ve had less talented point guards than Primo.

Looks like he’ll be a valuable, multi year contributor. And he’s from DC.. love it!

I Was super happy for all of the Hoyas ( except Billy Hassett, as I wasn't alive yet!) for winning their rings. What is incredible to me, however, is the fact that despite so many HOF and All Stars, we have yet to have a starter on a championship team. Truly bad luck for the likes of PE, Zo, Mutombo, AI, Sleepy, Reggie, etc. Fortunately Zo has one! Was talking about as a starter though. Im sure Zo loved his ring , and he was very valuable on the title team, but Shaq was the starter.

We will be better coached and hopefully give deserving bench players some run, as well. But I wouldn’t expect anyone on next year’s team to make first or second team All Big East. And I’m glad to give Coach Cooley a pass in terms of recruiting in yr 1.

When I saw he was a versatile 6 8 guy playing in Howard County, my first comp was Greg Whittington. Greg never had a full career here, obviously, but definitely had some talent. If he has that skillset and a good head on his shoulders, I wouldn't complain.

Has anyone here, other than Daveg023, actually seen Mr. Cook play in a game? If so, would love your thoughts. Dave has been clear he sees him as a solid backup at this level. However, others seem convinced he's the starter. Have those folks had a chance to watch him play beyond highlights?
