Has the Thompson’s Towel podcast gotten better? I tried to listen to it when it first started, but gave up when the hosts went on and on about how “Brendan” Murray would be our best player that season. I have a difficult time discerning if they actually know anything or if they're just fans like the rest of us, willing want they want to happen with their commentary.

So now do we ask why it took two weeks for him to post this, and infer that it has something to do with a change in the strategy to replace an assistant coach?

I’ve honestly stopped coming to hoyatalk as a result of a few horrible posters…who recycle and regurgitate the same vitriol over and over again. Instead, I now just have a weekly call with Cooley and don’t share any of it. We miss your insight and your objectivity b&g. Of course the results the last few years foster growing unhappiness and criticism. But I have (mostly) learned to quickly skim posts from the handful of more negative posters to determine whether there is informative content (which I read) or just more program/coach bashing (which I skip). Please don't let them control this board and its content. I'll double down on this B&G. Also, everyone needs to remember how to block members if they aren't deriving value from their posts.

I hope this board isn't setting expectations too high for Sorber.

Didn't he get in trouble at Creighton? "Creighton Men's Assistant Basketball Coach Preston Murphy has resigned. Last March Murphy was placed on administrative leave pending an internal review by the school. Creighton University said Murphy resigned to pursue other opportunities in basketball.
Murphy was placed on administrative leave after it was revealed in a federal indictment, that he was associated with a college basketball bribery scandal. Murphy was accused of accepting a $6,000 bribe in July of 2017."www.wowt.com/content/news/Creighton-Assistant-Preston-Murphy-Resigns-565361781.htmlI don't know much about the guy. Is he highly regarded as a recruiter? Does he mine a particular geographic area, or have specific AAU or HS ties somewhere? I for one am happy to overlook whatever happened at at Creighton, especially in today's wild west NIL culture, if he will stay out of trouble and help the team going forward. I'm just interested in whether he can coach and recruit. Greg McDermott's fall guy

If anybody still thinks Cook should be getting significant minutes next year after watching this - then they're related 5 to 8 minutes off the bench max. So disappointing.

Fielder, Sorber, Cook, McKenna, Williams, Styles; good looking front court in 24-25 and on And if you believe what’s been put out there, the coaches are looking for two transfer bigs, too. Depth would be nice.

This conference is a lot more fun when everything isn’t a foul.

So after that stinker of a second half, let's talk about something more positive. Who are the portal big man choices? Does Hunter want to take a grad year back home?

Our zone D is terrible. But our man D is also terrible. So whatever, I guess.

Great half. If we only had a 5 who could finish on offense and defend the paint on D.

Who is coaching this team? Before DePaul took the lead there was a timeout, and we came out of that timeout and two straight possessions someone pounded the ball and then shot without passing (Epps, then Brumbaugh). How much further into the season do we need to get before we start making good decisions? What is the role of the coaching staff here if we continue to make the same mistakes over and over again?

Some quick thoughts after reading the Hilltop article:
- This is all very interesting information, but at what point is publishing this negligent to our efforts in the offseason? Or is he getting a blessing from someone in the program to put this out there?
- Here's to hoping that a team of "mercenaries" will gel next year as we all want them to.
- If not for the two-time transfer rules and NIL money, three of this year's Friars would have been Hoyas. That would have been incredibly funny to go along with the Cooley/traitor talk.

Amazing that we keep getting worse as the season goes along. Don't care, lost the team, mailed it in. Take your pick.
If anyone thinks we should be running back Cook as our starting 5 next year, you couldn't be more wrong.

Massoud should never shoot off the dribble He should never shoot a two-point shot. Ever. He shoots a worse percentage from 2 than 3.

The Merrimack player that got the rebound and missed the first layup at the end? He ran free and clear from the top of the key because Heath didn't box him out.
