The dunk was incredible, but what really impressed me is the emergence of Dajuan midrange game...he never had that dribble pull up 15 footer from the wings last year. He looks smooth and under control this year.
Oh, and I'm completely ok with both techs tonight...nice to see some emotion, esp. after a bush league intentional foul.

Let's not get crazy...I can't see UNC taking a fall in the rankings if they don't lose, especially given the media love affair with them (deservedly so, as that's a damn good basketball team)

I guess it is inevitable when you start bringing in top notch recruits, but never fun to start reading about your best player getting drafted this year 2 games into his frosh campaign...
JKL(Boston, MA): Due to the supposed weakness of this year's draft will teams be more likely to include picks in any trades that occur?
Chad Ford: Yeah, I'm not blown away so far. We're not seeing the freshman dominating the way they've done in year's past. Muellens, DeRozan and Evans, for example, haven't been great. However, keep an eye on Georgetown's Greg Monroe. He has size and talent and has been good for Georgetown early on.

Well not really WITH Bob Ryan, he was sitting one table away at a random diner in NYC today...but as Bob was walking out I said "Bob, great article on Roy today, I really enjoyed it." And he stopped and said "thank you, I appreciate that." Just a cool, random BET moment. edit: Here's the Ryan article...was in the post game thread tinyurl.com/2frwu5

The persecution mentality on this board can get a little overwhelming at times...not everything is a knock on us

Agreed...you get MUCH better grip from your kicks when u run your hands over the bottom. I feel like we had a similar thread a while back about this very same topic that also completely devolved into nonsense.

I see this article as a fair handed evaluation, relying on the quotes and opinions of the scouting "experts", whatever that means.
I disagree that with your assertion about the disappointment stemming from the lack of numbers. The article seems to indicate disappointment over his approach to the game and his demeanor on the court and the fact that, from the box scores, he got crushed by two other elite prospects (Samuels and Aminu). The telling line from the article goes something along the lines of "Greg loves to win but we aren't sure if he hates to lose."
Look, I've never seen the guy play so I won't offer any opinions on his play. I will say that the guys is 17 or 18, during senior year of HS and that he's not done developing, physically or emotionally as a player. I think he is falling victim to the 24 hr news cycle. If he does what it sounds like he's capable of when he puts on the blue & grey, all will be forgotten.

Do the Princeton Review review ranking not get published in "their Ivory Tower"? And seriously...he wants to brag about a Metro stop...now I know why Georgetown doesn't have one...its to keep the GW kids from having easy access to the Hilltop

Still no chance...there's this discussion almost EVERY year by someone. Last year someone wrote an article about whether the Florida team could hang and the answer was a resounding no. Even an All American team would get beat down, b/c everyone in the NBA was "All Something".

www.nike.com/nikebasketball/usa/?ref=bball_global_redirect#nike_eliteAfter the intro video, the screen splits in 2...On the right side it says "Top coaches reveal the secrets of Elite Teamwork" and if you click on it, it has video clips of interviews with various coaches. JT3 is on the list, but his video has not yet been posted. Featured coaches include: Lorenzo Romar: Winning with a 5'7" lead guard Bruce Weber: Winning despite losing out on all your top recruits Tom Crean: Creating a team game despite with an overrated, shoot first point guard Oliver Purnell: On...wait Clemson plays basketball?! Mark Few: Life after The 'Stache (or perhaps My PG is a druggie) Steve Alford: Coaching your current team despite thinking I should've won the Indiana job (not yet available) Billy Donovan: Decisive decision making Jim Calhoun: Teamwork leading to steals Gary Williams: How not to let schoolwork get in the way of basketball Jeff Capel: (he's still speechless out of the shock of being included on this list) JT3: On life as a basketball god

He commits A LOT of silly fouls...especially after he turns the ball over or makes a mistake
