quote] That is funny. That reminds me of the first time was in in McD as a little kid, and Michael Jackson kicked me out(LOL). Did he say, "beat it"? He said, "you can't be in here". So I ran...

I thought Camille's coverage of the team couldn't hold a candle to Barker's?

I thought Camille's coverage of the team couldn't hold a candle to Barker's? Not when it is good news for Hoya fans.

Of the mock drafts I've seen that are updated to reflect the lottery this is where Jeff and roy stand: Jeff: 13, 6, 14, 5, 13, 12 Roy 9, 8, 5, 8, 7, 10
My point being: Jeff you're on the tail end of the lottery most likely. come back and win that National title. you can improve your stock. If you don't come back not winning a title will eat at you.

Maybe this was mentioned in the thread and I missed it, but since they are announcing together, doesn't that indicate they are coming to the same decision? Has it happened before where two players from the same team made an announcement like this at the same time and the same conference and one was leaving while the other was staying? That just seems like a strange way to do it. With Camille's report on Roy, I am more confident than ever that both are staying. If either or both go, I wish them the best, but I think we've got one more year Jeff and Roy!!! I'll be checking at 1PM with the rest of you........no matter what happens, at least we can stop all the speculating and get on with looking forward to next season which will be a great one!!!

Unfortunately I believe it has and my example is last year with Arron Afflalo staying and Jordan Farmar saying he was going-same press conference although it did take place after pre-draft workouts

That just seems so weird to me. Especially if say they announce Roy is staying and then there's a huge cheer! and then Jeff is leaving and then there's an awkward silence.

I agree with HoyaSinceBirth. Obviously all speculation, but it does seem weird that if Roy is staying, per Camille, that Jeff would then announce he is leaving at the same press conference. Regardless, I've got my fingers crossed.

While i am cautiously optimistic about Jeff coming back, I find the timing of an announcement from him today very strange.
Why wouldn't he wait until after the Orlando camp? Go down there and go through the drills and then see what you are hearing after that.
He would still have 2 weeks before he would have to get an agent or pull out of the draft - plenty of time, since he's getting advice and counsel on the issue now. It's not like he would be starting at zero once he signs with an agent.
Maybe the draft projections (where he is lower than he was over the last few weeks) are enough to get him to change his mind and come back for one more year?
I am just surprised he is making an announcement today with three plus weeks til the deadline.
What about the possibility of a non-announcement? Roy says he is coming back for senior year but Jeff says he is staying in the draft until June 18th, still not hiring an agent, keeping options on the table?
This allows him to at least make a statement on the record, since there will be so much speculation on his plans once Roy announces his own. Gives him some breathing room...though it will give people here heart attacks.

Frazier, i posted that before camille broke the story...obviously i am beyond ecstatic that roy is coming back regardless of jeff's decision...i was hoping against hope to be proven wrong, and i was!

For all those trying to sneak in I just scoped it out. The press conference is taking place in the lobby of Mcdonough. There are about 40 chairs set out in between the two glass cases two mikes for asking questions behind the chairs a table right in front of the entrance to the actual gym with four mikes.

What do you think looked like the best way in? I'm ready to hide in a bathroom for an hour if need be, but wondering what you saw as a good route...

coming in from the tennis court side seemed to be the best way. That way you can pretend you're going to the bathroom or something. Or just going upstairs. perhaps trying to go down the hallway and get into the main gym and listen from there.

Guru - I cover politics, so I have seen the non-announcement presser before. Jaded from too many years in Washington!
I guess I am thinking that scenario only because what happens if Roy says "I'm staying" and we hear nothing from Jeff? that means 3 more weeks of speculation, rumors, people coming up to him and saying "stay one more year!" and him having to dodge it all.
If he comes out and at least just updates - "I'm still weighing my options" - that at least gives us all something to chew on for a few more weeks, rather than just rehashing old quotes.
I hope I am wrong/totally off base!!

what red headed hoya says makes a lot of sense. I hope he jsut straight up says he's coming back but him not commiting one way or the other makes a lot more sense then saying he's staying in.
