Sounds obvious, but missing the Hall game hurt DSR's chances to reach the 2,000 point club. He's right on the edge using his 2014-15 ppg average. He needs every game he can get to play.
Conservatively assuming 4 more games this year, another 33 games next year, and 16 ppg, DSR gets to 1,905.
More aggressively assuming 6 more games this year, another 35 games next year, and 16 ppg, DSR gets to 1,969. 16 points in the Hall game would have given him projected 1,985.
Gonna be close if he stays healthy. I don't see his ppg going up meaningfully next year, although he will play more SG with Tre slotted at PG.

Right now, barring injury, he's got a good shot at being a top 5 all-time in points (long shot at #4, but it's there), a top 5 in FT's made, and it is looking increasingly likely that he will pass Wallace as our top 3 point shooter of all time. Pretty remarkable. Related to the "where do you rank him" thread...he's got to be the top guard under III if he hits those marks. Would just be nice to see him get some hardware to go with it.

Only four players in Hoya history have scored 1400 or more points in their first three years:
Patrick Ewing--1642 points. Sleepy Floyd--1685 points. Mike Sweetney--1750 points. Allen Iverson--1539 points.
Jeff Green is currently fifth all time in points scored through junior year.
Also, Reggie William's senior season is just insane. 23.6 points per game, 8.7 rebounds per game, 2.7 assists per game and 2.1 steals per game, all while shooting 48.2% from the field, 38.6% from behind the arc and 80.4% from the line.
I don't know if that's the best season in Hoya history, but that's just crazy. Also crazy that it's not hard for me to believe that Ewing/Sleepy/Iverson/Mourning might have had a better season.

With some BET and NCAA success, DSR is in position to become one of the all-time great Hoyas after the Big 5 (Ewing, Mourning, Williams, Sleepy, Iverson).

What is the record for most 3-point field goals made in a season by a Hoya? Is DSR close?

What is the record for most 3-point field goals made in a season by a Hoya? Is DSR close? Iverson had 87 in '96. DSR has 72 this season.

Career 3 point leader is Wallace with 240. DSR is 63 shy.
If he stays healthy, DSR has a great chance to pass Wallace aned become #1.

Iverson hit 87 3s as a sophomore (37 Games) Reggie hit 78 3s as a senior Wallace hit 73 3s as a junior
So, I think that puts DSR's 72 3s as a junior in 4th place for made 3s in a season.
With less games played (31), DSR's 3PFG/game average is nearly the same as Iverson's sophomore season.

After Utah.
DSR finishes his Junior season with 1386 points, passing Big Sky Shelton for 18th on the all time scoring list. with a similar season next year to his Junior year, he would finish with over 1900 points, 5th all time.
He has 177 career three pointers and stands an excellent chance of passing John Wallace's 240 for the all time Hoya lead.
He has 353 free throw makes and should easily finish in the top 5 in this category as well.
Mikael Hopkins finishes his career with 148 blocks, 10 on the Hoya all time list. He also finished with 482 rebounds, 38th all time.

DSR's 522 points this season place him 25th in individual season points scored. The history project would show him at 24th, but the site appears to fail to reflect Markel Starks' 570 points (14th all time) scored last year. His 72 Three's are the fifth most scored in a season. Leader AI sank 87 threes in 1996.

I think he actually finished 26th for points scored in a season, as the history project doesn't reflect DSR's 580 points from last year either.

Looks as if no one will cross the 1000 point threshold this yr. Still, monitoring the progress of DSR and the rest of the team should be fun! Can't wait to get started.

Why focus on 1,000? We have a potential 2,000 point scorer this year!
