VERY interesting snippet from Page 2's Chuck Klosterman's Final Four blog today: "[Sidebar: Writer John Feinstein just walked up to Thompson and introduced himself. Thompson barely nodded at him. Have these people never met before? That seems unfathomable to me.]" Guess someone's not up on his history... Some more Georgetown stuff in there as well sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=klosterman/finalfour/day2&sportCat=ncb

Yes, it was very surprising how friendly they were to each other during that talk show, in view of the rep Feinstein has developed at this board. They really seem like old friends.

No matter how much Feinstein touts the ACC, the Patriot League, or whatever, DC is a Hoyas town. When Georgetown is ON, everybody takes notice. Even somebody like him, he probably realizes deep down that the Thompson family is DC sports royalty.

Hopefully his "friend" will tell him that the Hoyas were, in fact IN THE BIG EAST TOURNAMENT in 2003-2004 so that he can stop saying we "missed our own conference tournament". It seems like he cannot talk about G'town without bringing that up!

Feinstein has realized he's either going to have to make friends with JTIII or move to a new city. His recent article was conciliatory in my mind.

The irony about BUM's error relating to the BET is that it actually makes III's accomplishments look greater. OTOH, even though we made the tournament, the fact is that that season was an unmitigated disaster, including a loss to a St. John's team playing with, as I recall, four scholarship players. Whether we made the BET or not, we were clearly at or near rock bottom.

Perhaps Klosterman has been informed by Hoya fans or Feinstein himself of the feud, because he mentions it in his latest update.
