Listen up, folks...the HOYAS basketball team believes in superstitions, and so should we. You ask for evidence of this bold assertion? Have at it, hawse... -On PTI JTIII admitted to only using a blue marker to draw up plays (any other color and the manager is no longer the manager). -Luke Winn pointed out the other day that the HOYAS changed their shoes to old, more successful versions at halftime of the Vandy game.
...so if you haven't taken a shower in 3 weeks, keep up the filthy work. If you haven't washed your WAG shirt since before the BET (as in BubbRubb's case (I'm calling myself out on use of the 3rd person)), then for the love of Jeff Green keep the Tide bottle away. If the HOYAS have come performed better in halves that you've turned your 1993 Starter cap backwards, keep that brim away from your forehead. If Scooby Doo is a good luck charm, then...oh wait, Scooby Doo didn't show up to the UNC game...that one gets a pass.
You get the point. WWJTIIID? I don't know, but he certainly wouldn't jinx the team.
GO HOYAS!!!

I've been convinced we're losing every game since Villanova I. And I'm sure we're losing Saturday.

Is it ok that I changed my avatar? I wouldn't have thought the Bengals were good luck, but this one I just couldn't pass up.

I also have not taken my HoyaBand off since Villanova III (BET Game). We're talking 3 weeks today.

A couple of things:
1) As Jack can attest, I have worn the same sweater/shirt combo since ND in the BET. Before that I wore another blue sweater every game since 'Nova I.
2) I gave up sitting in Row 8 behing JT Jr. b/c I was afraid of what might happen.
3) I pointed out the shoe change to Jack as soon as they returned from halftime of the Vanderbilt game. DaJuan left on the grey Jordan's and I think that was the right move considering his performance during the East Regionals

I stopped reading the Talk Board after the Syracuse game...

I refuse to watch the Hoyas on my big screen during the NCAA Tournament because they lost to FL last year when I watched them on it.
And you know you DO have the power to jinx. I was at the Wizards game last night, and with the Wiz up 97-82 with 7 minutes left, I said to my friend, "I guess they've got it in hand." The Sixers then went on a 19-4 run in the next 3 minutes. Of course, that was my doing.

I, apparently, am obsessed with the visibility of the banana thread.
Also, I don't read anything by hifigator (but that may be just a good idea, as opposed to a superstition).

The Scooby Doo costume does not affect the outcome of any games. That's a fact. The Hoyas have won when Scooby Doo has shown up. Likewise, the Hoyas have won without Scooby Doo.
Don't get me wrong, I'm as superstitious as anyone, but Scooby Doo is superstition proof.

I've worn red, then black for every other round of the postseaon, with a WAG shirt underneath it all. We're undefeated. That and I haven't gotten a haircut, which is probably more circumstance than superstition. I haven't been home for one single weekend since the beginning of March! OH MY!

I've trimmed my beard once a week before each weekend of the BET/NCAA's. I'll be trimming tomorrow.

I have been wearing the same shoes, socks, lucky boxers (they have shamrocks on them-I was torn as to what to do against ND but went with them anyway) WAG shirt and gray fleece. At the start of the game I must take off my fleece and place it on the back of the chair and it must remain there. I am now superstitious about revealing my sperstitions.

Been wearing the same hat (must be backwards) since the West Virginia game, except for the Syracuse game. Freaky. Also team is undefeated in games I've attended since W. Virginia when I wear my lucky shirt from this year's midnight madness. I haven't washed it since the beginning of the tourney. The hat, shirt, and lucky sweatshirt will visit the Georgia Dome on Saturday.

I watch Miracle or Hoosiers before every big game. Since I can't watch them, I'm simply bringing them with us to ATL.

I have worn the same unwashed Hawaiian shirt to every game this year. Yes, it's disgusting and my wife is disgusted with me, but we've won every game this year I attended with the shirt (12-0 and counting). Also, same shoes, socks and t-shirt (all cleaned).
YB - I love the Miracle piece. During OT of the UNC game I turned to Fan of the Game in my best Minnesota accent and said "He isn't pulling Tracziak...he doesn't know what to do!". It was perfect Roy Williams was like the Russian coach in OT. It was like he didn't realize he had a timeout and just looked frozen.
Cracked me up.

"Great moments are bore of great opportunity. And you have such an opportunity here, tonight".
"I am sick and tired of hearing what a good team the Ohioans have! Screw 'em! This is your time now!
Now go out and take it!"
