Getting ready to head to work. Get out at about 5:20, home at 5:35, make a cheese tray, cut up some veggies, take out the Meursault, uncork the St. Emilion, breathe, breathe. Both the wine and yours truly. Mutter offhand greetings to my friends, assume the position.
Here's hoping OSU sleepwalks ala the Tennessee game out of the box. More importantly, as already alluded to, here's hoping the Hoyas come out smoking. I think the bucks would be shocked to find how much tougher we are from ahead than the Vols. One worry, should that scenario play out, is the reffing of the big boys. Against the Heels, after treating Roy like an adult playing in a youth game, with all of the potential lawsuits from bereaved heel parents, the last part of the game Roy was allowed to swat and bump freely. I would be worried about that same kindness being extended to Oden. If the center matchup is called evenly, I like our chances. Conley, much like Reynolds and Lawson, is a tough matchup for us. If we can give him some wrinkles, maybe slow him down, that would be huge. As per usual, other than pressing the Hoyas to give us less time to get comfy in the half court, there isn't one key for an opposing D to focus on, knowing we need that tyhing to win. That said, the bucks do seem to have a potential answer to the first question posed to any Hoya opponent... can we stop Roy?
This could be a classic. Buckle up.
GO HOYAS!!!!!

From an OSU board....
I have seen Aaron Gray play and against most teams he dominated. I personally think Hibbert and Oden will cancel each other out and put up similar numbers. The key to this game will be Ohio State's guard play and Jeff Green. Green will probably put up big numbers and OSU's guards will have a field day against the Georgetown backcourt. I think this will be a very close game that will come down to the wire.
I just hope the OSU guards have a field day against Georgetown's guards like UNC's guards did.
Wallace and Sapp make Rodney Dangerfield look like a valued member of the community.

green doesnt put up "big" numbers aside from notre dame...he just controls the game. this game is about control - we need to play our game, keep out of foul trouble and keep to TOs down....we do that, we win

bilas is awesome. Just called Jeff the best all-around player (guard or forward) in the country. Digger is obvi hatin' but Jay is saying he is a go-through player and he is amazing. I love Jeff!

This is going to be another exciting action-packed game. If the Hoyas execute the back-door cuts all day, they will rip apart OSU's defense. If Hibbert can stay at of foul trouble for once and play most of the game, we will be moving on to the Championship. It will be key to get Oden into foul trouble because when he is off the court, the Buckeyes are pretty much screwed.
GO GEORGETOWN!

This is it. The big day (so far ;D). A little different than 22-25 years ago, because the Final Four keeps getting hyped more each year and we have the internet to keep in touch with other Hoya alumni and fans. On this board we are all on the same page (except, of course, hifi and the interloping buckeye fans). This will be a good game and I hope our collective will is going to prevail. I have been calm all week, but when I woke up today, I got an adrenaline rush knowing that it is game day and we are playing for a spot in the final game.
GO HOYAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Beat the Buckeyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

interesting tidbit from the hartford courant today: One proud Hoya: Former Georgetown basketball player and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Brendan Gaughan will not be able to attend the Hoyas' Final Four game today against Ohio State, but will celebrate in his own way. Today at Martinsville, Gaughan's Chevrolet will have the Georgetown `G' on the deck lid and the school's bulldog mascot on one of the truck's posts. Gaughan's team will also wear Georgetown hats today. www.courant.com/sports/motorracing/hc-autoup0331.artmar31,0,2896570.story?coll=hc-headlines-sports-motor

I didn't know we were dominated by UNC's guards. I thought Lawson sucked and had 5 points and Miller/Ellington probably combined for 10 points. Not sure that buckeye fan saw the game.

This waiting is KILLING me!! I was one of the fortunate guys who got to the Meadowlands for the Final last week (almost got into a fight with a nitwit unc fan who ASSumed I was cursing at him), and I got to take pix of the netcutting and just all the LOVE that went out to the HOYAS---really a Dream come true. But today is MURDER----I HAVE to go to this wedding RIGHT during the game---obviously gotta tape it, as I did the carolina game even though I went as well. I spent ALL week trying to get the couple to change the date or break up or something, but it didn't work; then I got an ex of the girl to go and see her, and THAT didn't work; finally I tried to get them to elope, and I failed. So----gotta tape the game, and sneak out to my car to hear it on the radio. SO NO complaining from you guys HOYA SAXA ALL THE WAY THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT!@!!!!

I watched the UNC game again last night, it was my third watching, and it shocked me just how effective Sapp was. It's not that I didn't think he was good but he had a huge game all-around. I was on this site before with another username and last year I started a thread about Jesse because there was just something about him that I liked. He had a rough game earlier in the toruney but he was just great last game. Good footwork on D vs Lawson and even broke out a couple of crossovers on O. Plus he was making some bullet-passes and he even knocked down a couple of 3's. So I'm saying that Jesse will do a good job on keeping Conley from driving and if Hibbs comes close to sawing off Oden then I'm looking for Green, EJr and Summers to put us over the top.
