I talked to a friend who is from Winston last night. He suggested Fox & Hound or Tee Time, the latter of which is supposed to be near the LJC. Also, there is a Ham's, which is solid, as well as a BW3s.
FYI: for those of you making travel plans, you can easily get a hotel in Greensboro and then drive to the game. Greensboro is only about 30 minutes away from Winston. I just thought I would mention that in case the hotels in Winston are packed.

Definetly interested in a pre-game location. Name the time and place...brining three Hoya alumns with me to the game.
BTW, first time poster (although very frequent reader).

There's a Fox and Hound in Philly which is pretty decent (watched the beatdown of OSU there last March) ... remember, no booze inside the arena, so location, location, location ...
Let's decide on a place for pre/post game by tomorrow ... is the Hoop Club doing a reception somewhere?

I doubt that Gtown sets up anything in NC- I have never seen even a game-watch event in this state. I guess that mean us Hoyatalkers need to set things up.

Georgetown doesn't really set any game watches up. They're all organized locally (sometimes by the local Alumni Club, sometimes now), and anyone who sets up any such event can make it an "official" Game Watch party by calling the Athletic Dept and telling them about it, and they'll send a package with t-shirts, etc.

Heard good things about that Fox & Hound from people in the area who went there for Clemson football game watches and or pre/postgame events there for basketball.

Fox and the Hound sounds good, but want to avoid walking into a UNC or (worse) BC buzzsaw ...

Actually...that sounds sort of fun (particularly UNC).

Here's what I am hearing from a good buddy in Winston-Salem: Fox and Hound attracts a predominantly redneck crowd. It is in the basement of a shopping center, if that tells you anything. I guess that is where the Heels will go. But it does have a lot of TVs and would have most of the games. He suggests a new place called Recreation Billiards. Supposedly is an old pool hall that has been recently renovated with lots of plasmas, etc. Here's the link: www.recreationbilliards.com/welcome.htmlAnother place downtown that is pretty good is Foothills Brewing, but does not have a ton of TVs. Another good bit of info..... one of the anchors for the local news just ran over and killed somebody and has been charged with a DUI. Lots of local pressure for the cops to do something, so you can bet they will be out in force even more than usual looking to bust fans. Cabs can be hard to come by in this part of the country, so plan ahead.

Yeah, that doesn't sound like the F&H I'd heard about - did some checking and the one I had heard about was in Cary and is in Raleigh now. Most of my WS experience is tailgating outside the coliseum while going to a football game.

I haven't been to that Fox & Hound, but I go to a place owned by the same company all the time (Bailey's in Chapel Hill). The food is pretty good.

Thank you later for what? If the team "IS" staying there, don't you think that fans of other teams read this message board, and "may" try things that might distract our players and coaches? If you posted this to show off your knowledge and "insider" status and let us know how cool you think you are, congratulations. Way to compromise the team's privacy and security just to make yourself feel like a big man. Jackass.
