Our annual DC trip for a Hoyas game is certainly a good one this year. Where is most of the local pre and post gaming done this year?

Ask Jack where he parks before and after.

Pitt's sold out. As such, pick a bar - there will be lots of Hoya fans there.
What do you want? Clyde's is right next door, and is consistently packed with above-average food (though service can be very slow). District Chophouse is better food and a quasi-official Hoya hangout. Hooters is ... well, Hooters. I've gotten to considering Five Guys a usual good luck charm.
This is in direct contrast to Harrisonburg, where your primary postgame option is a Chili's that's out of fajitas. YB is probably still bitter about that one...

Are you part of the group that passed on the Duke game last year because you thought there was too good of a chance we would lose and you don't have fun after a loss? I guess the Syracuse home win was fun though.

Jack will be at Clyde's with his usual band of merry men and women. Keep in mind on Fado- 6 Nations Rugby this Saturday means $20 cover depending on when you arrive. Not that it should dissuade you- ordinarily I would be very excited to see England-Ireland from Croke Park, but I think Hoya hoops will require my undivided attention.

Speakin of Fado's, was anyone there after our home game against Cincy last month? Holy drunkeness! I had never seen the students and everyone else so completely faced. I'm talking bottles breakin, people wrestling each other, beer spilled all over the place.
It was a disgusting display and I loved it. I don't know what it was but something was in the air that day cause I'd never seen that level of debauchery after a Hoyas game at Fado's. And I've gone there after every game for the last few years.
I'm scared what this weekend might bring with the 2pm tip.

Are there two areas, one for soccer (free) and one for rugby ($$$)? Anyone who would pay any money to watch rugby when soccer is free is an idiot. Either way, Bubb Rubb will be there, and he won't be paying a cover (or else I'll terrorize Fado's patrons by driving by all day in my whistle-tipped hoop-d). I think it's a pretty standard Hoya's pregame bar.

This is the biggest game of the season, and it's also our only 2pm start of the season! Clyde's at Noon, RFD after the game. Mark it.

Anyone who would pay any money to watch rugby when soccer is free is an idiot. Hate to hijack a thread, but could not let this stand. Are you seriously comparing 3 meaningless mid-season premiership contests with the oldest international tournament in sport, on a day when God Save the Queen will be sung at the home of the GAA? I love me some soccer, but this rugby is a huge deal, and that Setanta makes every punter cough up $20 to watch it is a shame. Also, don't know why this bothers me, because I have no affection for the Disney Irish theme that it projects and have scrupulously avoided the place since Clyde's came to the area, but the bar is called Fado, not Fado's.

Saturday will be my first G'Town game in DC (never had the means to travel outside of NY so I've been relegated to seeing the Hoyas play the Johnnies and random B.E.T. games).. I will be ready

As one who is a stickler for proper grammar and syntax, I am ashamed of my screwing up the name. That said...so sue me, I'm not a rugby fan (especially at a 1-infinity% greater cover price). I am also of the opinion that there are no meaningless games in soccer...one of the great things about the incentive structure built into the European leagues, what with the constant carrot of European play and the threat of relegation. If only US Leagues were like that (promote the PawSox and demote the Brewers, perhaps?). EDIT: I'm officially unashamed. I got the name right each time. The "'s" was only used in the possessive, referring to the patrons of Fado whom I will terrorize with my whistle tip.

Bubbrubb- You were not the offender on Fado/Fado's.
Fair point on the importance of each match, but it's not like those are particularly inspiring matchups there.

Back to the thread (although I don't feel like this was too much of a hijacking, because it simulated bar-talk, thus making it relevant in a bar-thread.).
