I can't be the only one thinking that right now around here, can I? (Thing is, I really believe it...)

I truly believe we COULD...if things break right.
The NCAAs are very much about match-ups. We had very good match-ups last year as N. Iowa was slipping at the end and Oh St. was overrated as a 2 seed and their best player was an undersized 5 man who couldn't deal with our height. Heck, if we beat Florida as we should have who knows...
Vegas doesn't have us a one of the Top 10 teams to win the whole for the heck of it. That being said we could lose in the first round. Just depends.

One game at a time.
We still need to win 2 more BE games to be assured a winning conference record.
And as much as I love this team and think its the best Hoya team we have had in years, our D is not currently good enough to win the whole thing.
Do I think they have the potential to be good enough? Yes but potential and executing are 2 very different things.
That being said Go Hoyas beat the Warriors/Golden Eagles!

True, but we don't really need that many things to break our way to do it. Luck will play a part, of course, and matchups will be key - but our team is playing so well, and getting so much better every game, that by mid-March we won't have to worry much about matchups. We'll be able to take anyone down if we play our game.
I still can't believe this is only JT3's third season. What an incredible job he has done.

No such thing as a jinx by a bunch of fools on a chat board.
At the beginning of the year the players were talking about winning the whole thing so I don't think we're out of line.
I'm to the point where I'll be dissapointed with anything less than getting to the second weekend in the dance.
Heck, I even got invited to something on Saturday March 10th at night and I immediately gave the old...can't make it since the Hoyas will be in the Big East championship game that night at 9PM in the Garden.
Wouldn't have thought about saying that since Iverson...

I honestly think you guys are on a fairly short list of teams that could win it all. You present a very tough matchup for anyone on short turnaround especially, so your opponents in the second and fourth rounds would be at an added disadvantage.
Should we punch our tickets for Atlanta now? See you there ...

G'town better beat a good team before y'all start booking hotel rooms in Atlanta.
What's the Hoyas' best win this year? at L'ville (RPI = 73; KenPom = 37; Sagarin = 56 [before last night])? Notre Dame (45; 21; 20)? at Michigan (54; 52; 65)? at Vanderbilt (47; 44; 53)?
Fact is that G'town is 1-4 against Sagarin's top 50; 2-4 against RPI top 50, 3-4 against KenPom top 50.
Beating a mediocre Louisville team isn't really that impressive. The remaining games against MU, WVU, Pitt, @ Nova, @ Cuse will tell us how good this team is.

This team wasn't very good back in December when it lost to Duke, Oregon St, and the like. It was easy to see that. This team is very good right now, and getting better. It's just as easy to see that. Just you watch on Saturday. It will be a statement game.

I think the thing is that it's not just who we've beaten, it's how we've beaten them. 16 of 17 wins by double digits, and the only other was last night, by 8 points. There's a reason we're blowing teams out, and it's not just because they stink. Awful teams play close games against good teams all the time. Yet we keep on rolling....... Marquette will be our first chance in a while to show what we can do against a quality opponent. And I think we're gonna crush them.

I can't believe this thread was started. I wish it could be locked and purged from the system. Ugh. Big Dog, my brother, lighten up. It's supposed to be fun - and it's FUN to be able to say it, and mean it. I can feel your angst about the Marquette game from here, but for goodness sakes, try to enjoy all this. We have a really good team that is so much fun to watch and we're in for a fantastic Feb/March/April. Yes, I said April. Start having some fun with this team!!!

Well for us to start a win streak to carry us through the championship, we need to lose two straight going into that stretch. We lost to Oregon and Duke, then ripped off 7 in a row. We lost to Pitt and Nova, then ripped off another 6. So, if we lose to YouCon and our first BET game, we'll be primed for a championship run.
