I just wanted to create a space on the board for posters who often are given a hard time to for being overly-critical during losses to compliment the team for last night's performance. Looking at the post-game comments, I notice that some posters that come on after losses or during a game in which we are not playing to our potential, have disappeared. I was hoping this forum would encourage them to reappear, provide some positive commentary, and show the board that they may see a light at the end of the "dark tunnel" of our "guard play", "offensive scheme", and "point guard situation."
I should mention that I used to be a very pessimistic poster during the Esherick era and even the first few games of the Thompson era (I think rightly so, considering how uninspiring we used to be). However, it is now time to appreciate what we have- win or lose.
Go Hoyas!!!!!!!!

Some more information for those posters to digest. According to Ken Pom we are likely to lose 1 of our remaining conference games and we are the 10th best team in America. www.kenpom.com/rate.phpI'd also like to compliment the team for breaking the zone press through dribble and passing penetration to the foul line to set up entry passes to the low post or wings after the zone collapsed - if I was one of those people who thought we had to have excellent guard play and hit 3's at a record pace to beat a zone - man would I be embarrased almost too embarassed to post again until we lose.

I'd also like to compliment the coaching staff on the job they've done so far with a team that has lost depth throughout the season due to players leaving the program and recurring injuries to Rivers and Macklin. They have still put us in a position to live up to the lofty expectations that were sit for us at the beginning of the season by people outside of the program.
Also, that win over Vandy looks better every week.

This is the single most ridiculous thread I have ever seen on this board.
Casually.

I'd like to compliment the team on the handshakes after the game--good technique--and III had me laughing when the DePaul coach put a "grip" on him--he even said "ouch"--how fun. Was there a game last night? Did they keep score? I didn't because sports aren't intended to be about competition--they are about learning how to show class after games. I think our team is excellent at that and that's all that matters.
STAY CLASSY GU!

Cut it out or our season is doomed. ;D

Some more information for those posters to digest. According to Ken Pom we are likely to lose 1 of our remaining conference games and we are the 10th best team in America. Well, to be clear, KenPom predicts that the Hoyas will lose 3 more conference games this year (regular season), as per his predicted final record. As of this morning, G'town is an underdog (by his metric) only at 'Nova, but the games at L'ville and Syracuse and the home game against Pitt are near toss-ups. Edited to say: Drat, HoyaBoy stole my thunder.

Hopefully he stops acting like hoyaeighties/mrsixer soon and starts acting like the contributing board member he actually is.

I don't know, TBird, it's pretty funny.
Although it really just makes me hungry. Milkshakes and sandwiches? Yes, please!

I guess RDF is still holding onto his previous rant as well:
Poorly coached
Poorly played
No mental toughness
No physical toughness
No clue HOW to play the game
No chance at going to NCAA Tournament.
This team will be lucky to win 15 games this year
STAY CLASSY RDF

This team will be lucky to win 15 games this year STAY CLASSY RDF Now Beantown--calm down. That wasn't me--that was my evil twin who said those things. I was having a milkshake and some sandwiches with Tom Brady and Bill Belichick the other day discussing how NEATO it was that they called up Peyton Manning and Tony Dungy and offered to give them a piggyback ride all the way down to Miami for the Super Bowl. --and that's not a bowl of chowder BEANTOWN--I know how you crusty, New Englander's like your "Chowda"--me? I prefer Milkshakes and sandwiches as I watch III and the fellas shake hands after the game and the pure genius that is III's "ouch" remark after one of the DePaul assistants gave him a strong shake. III needs to have some more milkshakes and quit giving them to Vernon--calcium strengthens the bones III! HOORAY for sportsmanship and do away with competitive sports. Who nees keeping score when we can hug, high five our opponents and have juice boxes to discuss the game after with our foes? YEA!

I have to admit, I just about lost it when I read "juice boxes" and "foes" somehow written together in the same sentence. Good work.
