Welcome to the new coach. I hope that he will bring the best from his Princeton experience, while being open to incorporating new and innovative coaching techniques into his program at Georgetown.
I hope he will recruit hard in the DC area and retain the top basketball talent from this area.
I hope he will hire some top assistants who have strong ties to the area high school and AAU coaches.
He needs to sell the top high school players on the importance of coming to a program where they will be cared for and steered towards a degree. He must convince them that it only takes a few good players to turn a program around and that the program will not over-recruit like some schools (e.g., North Carolina, Duke and Florida), stockpiling McDonald's All American after McDonald's All American.

In the short term, I hope he brings us some much-needed structure that will translate into a lot more "Good Brandon," and a lot less "Bad Brandon."
(i know I stole that from some poster, but I forget which; whoever you are, consider yourself duly credited)

Just came back from doing chemistry demos for the EPA Earth Day celebration on the UNLV campus and am late getting the news (and having to read all the posts today). Welcome to JTIII!!! I hope this will signal a turn in the HOYAs bball fortunes. I think this is a very good hire, concentrating as much on academics as good bball.
Hoya Saxa to all!!!

well this will b good. This is the guy that was most likely to come to us, and he did. around the horn and PTI both talked about it and i hope Jay Mariotti is right.
The Thompson dynasty is back, but I have a feeling that he will not make immediate impact, it is going to take more than one year to get this team to the NCAA tourney, but i say two years, and we could b back in the tourney, hopefully not back in the NIT.
PREDICTIONS sweet 16- 4 years elite 8-6 years final four-cant say champions-cant say But who really knows, I just think its gonna take this team some time to get back into the top 25. All i can say is JTIII better recruit like hell. I wish we could bring back the fast-style play that gtown had way back. I think we would do better.
PLEASE ROY HIBBERT! PLEASE!!! PLEASE HELP US!

disagree, jt3 will make an immediate impack. why because the team he coaches will play a much more deciplined style of basketball and not just offensively.they will be alot more fun to watch.

I think it might take awhile before we become a consistently good team, but with his system of offensive and defensive discipline, we should in very short order become a team that can be very tough for even a top 20 team to beat. We are not without talent on this current team -- if they buy into the system and the new staff can get them to play more effectively (we seemed to waste an awful lot of effort and energy last year), I agree that we could see a pretty noticeable impact fairly quickly.
