the bar i picked for my st. patrick's day revelry does not have the game package and the Villanova game on at 3pm screws it all up for our game.

I'm in the same boat as all the Philadelphia/South Jersey people. It will be hard as hell to find a bar that will show a non Nova NCAA game at that time of day. If long-time residents or more knowledgeable people could help, I think we'd be all much obliged.

Alright, a bunch of people in town for SXSW have contacted me about a gamewatch in Austin. Hadn't posted anything official b/c I'm not sure I'll be in town. But regardless of whether I will be there, everyone assemble your crew and get a nice beer buzz going before way before the Eliza Gilkyson show at:
Ringers 415 Colorado St. 1:35 PM CST

As long as TED still has a seat for me on the first flight out, I'll be in Scottsdale at or shortly after tipoff.
I'll watch games at the following location & would love any Hoya company.
Zipps Sports Grill At Kierland 6501 E Greenway Pkwy Scottsdale, AZ 85254-2065 (480) 948-5544

Although I won't personally be there, for Angelinos on the West side, the other Gtown Alumni currently attending UCLA Anderson will be hanging at Yankee Doodle on the Third St. Promenade.

PHILADELPHIA
RE where to watch-
I'm thinking a Dave and Buster's type operation (there's one on Delaware Ave), somebody with a lot of screens is the way to go if you're going to try and watch.
I'll do some digging and try to post again later today. If anyone else has a better suggestion, chime in.

The Georgetown Club of Philadelphia apparently hosted the Georgetown/Marquette Big East Tournament game at the Public House off of Logan Square (18th Street between Arch and The Four Seasons). They had to reserve it -- would not be surprised if only the 'Nova game is showing this time around. And, since I have never been there, I don't even know how many screens they have, etc. Will try to call at some point today on the outside chance that multiple games will be going on.

For all the Philly Hoyas: The Pour House in East Falls will be showing the Georgetown game and of course the Villanova game. I spoke to the bartender there today - they will have the Hoyas on at least one TV but said at 3pm will have to put the sound on for the Villanova game. The Pour House is just off the river and Kelly Drive in East Falls: 4213 Ridge Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19129 Phone: 215 848 2770 www.thepourhousetavern.com/It will probably be busy because it's St. Patrick's Day...

The manager at the Public House said that they will have multiple games on Friday, so you can probably catch the Hoyas there too (probably no sound, like the Pour House). www.publichousephilly.com/home.cfm

PHILADELPHIA
Turns out I will be coming from what is sure to be a "sedate" lunch at Finnigan's Wake in Northern Lieberties. I guess I will hope that the info about multiple screens at the Public House turns out to be right and steer what may be my listing ship there.
Between St. Patrick's Day and the Nova bandwagon, I have a bad feeling about trying to watch the Hoyas without major distraction or difficulty. If I could, I 'd drive south.

For those interested in ditching work/long lunches/general sloth/complete and utter devotion to your Hoyas and live in the D.C. area/No. Va. area, Mister Days in Arlington (convenient metro stop) will be televising all the games and has a slew of specials for St. Patty's Day.
That's where I'll be, wearing my Hoyas hat, starting at 1:30 or so.

Philly Hoyas,
If I remember correctly, NJHoya95 is the one to contact about finding out where a "formal" gathering might take place. For past games, I believe Filo's right, it has been at the Public House. If anyone has some more official information, please post it here. I'd like to know how far I'd have to travel ahead of time so I can plan on missing 1 or 2 classes. Public House would be my choice (based on proximity), if we could definitively get a decently sized TV there.
