Realistically, this team doesn't seem much better than last year. Spears, Murray, Wahab, Akok were physically more talented probably than anyone on this roster other than Epps/Styles. We look better coached, but less talented. End product is something that looks roughly the same.

Bristol has been having a solid season. He’s been very bad today.

Aside from some defensive lapses, they're doing about as well as I could expect. The shots are there, but they're not falling. They're taking care of the ball. And, while I wish the offensive action would go toward the rim more, I don't think that was ever going to be the case for that matchup.
Brumbaugh has been solid thus far with regard to running the show. Just need the shots to start falling

So far, our shooting has been terrible, and our rebounding has been about as bad.

We need more talent asap. I don’t see any these guys as starters next season but Epps and Styles. Maybe Supreme. Bristol is good off the bench.

Bacote's defense on that last possession was quite good and stayed in front of his man. Still not good trying to score though.
Next possession completely lost his man with the ball.

Creighton’s turnovers are keeping us in this game. Otherwise, it has been a rough night.

If we could shoot we'd be up comfortably

Ugly game so far from both teams.

Really can’t feel too bad about a 4 point game all things considered. Have to get some easier shots or draw some fouls offensively to start seeing the ball go through the hoop a little.

Good news: +8 in the turnover battle. Bad news: Shot 30%
I’d expect both of these things to normalize in the second half. Which one reverts more will decide it.

Defense in the first half has really been encouraging. If we can play defense like that we can compete. Without Epps we just really cannot create offense. Nobody else on the team can get open or draw people to get anyone else open.

You can see how there is an easy argument to be made that this team is as good if not better without Epps. The improved defense and lack of turnovers makes up for his shot making. A healthier Heath also helps. Play that same half and just make half the open misses and let’s get the win.

It’s not great defense, but you still have to put the ball in the basket, might be able to keep this one competitive if we didn’t go on a 6 min scoring drought. It's a 2 possession game, I don't know what universe that isn't competitive. Creighton is the #16 kenpom team. They've turned it over 11 times in one half, and Georgetown limited them to 28. That's the best defensive half Georgetown has played all year.

Our talent is mediocre, not championship quality. But we do play better basketball than we've played in a while. Some on this board have forgotten what really good players look like.

Is Trey McKenney suited up or does that have to wait for classes to start, or have a lost his connection to G'town.
