The teams the men beat, which might have consequences for at-large (kolas) points. Numbers how the teams were ranked if at all.

Terrific run by the women and very encouraging for the men. Getting the win over teams like Florida St. and Ole Miss, which are from historically thin regions is very good for the Hoyas' at-large chances.

Not to belabor the point, but with the huge losses from last year’s team, the women had a whole lot to prove this season, and they have delivered. Chloe S. and Melissa R. have both made massive improvements to be able to finish in the top 15 and I suspect that Maggie D. would have finished 20 spots higher if she were at full fitness. And Chloe G. And Kelsey are so solid in their own right. If these five can stay healthy, this may be one of the better teams from the last few years. And I was encouraged by the men, they seem to be shaking off the cobwebs.

The national poll:
The men moved from receiving no points to #29.
The women moved from #11 to #3!!! The only teams ahead of the Hoyas are NAU (coached by Hoya grad Mike Smith) and NC State (formerly #1).

No. 3 Georgetown skipped the top-10 entirely and flew right into the top-3. The Hoyas had themselves a day against the nation’s best at Nuttycombe and defeated multiple top-billed teams to earn a third-place team finish. Georgetown delivered when it mattered, evidenced by Maggie Donahue blitzing 35 places (89th to 54th) over the final kilometer to help push them ahead.
