Impossible not to like the quotes in this article, the staff is definitely sending the right message with the recruits their pulling.. It’s a welcome change from the “get to the NBA” pitch

Thank you for that -- so much to like and give hope for, but what I like most is his on-court IQ. Not all top recruits have that, but it will impact a game a dozen different ways. Welcome, Caleb. Can't wait to see you play. Let's get after it!! All thanks go to YaBoyNYP. He provided the link on HR.

Great get. Honestly if a couple months ago somebody had told me "Choose a reasonably realistic 4 man 2024 recruiting class" I think I would have picked Mulready, Sorber, McKenna, and Williams. I love the class this staff is putting together in their first cycle at Georgetown (recognizing McKenna reclassed up, but same idea). If we can land one more stud in 2024, maybe a PG, all the better, but we could also likely get help from the portal to plug a single hole like that if there is talent, development, and some consistency in the rest of the roster.
Penciling out the depth chart for next year, perhaps something like:
Brumbaugh/? Epps/Mulready/Bristol Styles/McKenna/Williams Fielder/Cook Sorber/Mutombo
Recognizing a lot of that is fluid, ie. 2 out of Styles/McKenna/Williams may be our starting forward combination, Epps may prove to be a serviceable backup pg, etc. But overall I think it's in a pretty good place with a couple scholarships left to give. You figure you may lose one or two of the above to transfers based on the way things go today, but hopefully with a little positive progress this year we are again serious players in that market ourselves. I think we're on the right track to get back to where we want to be. And I like how we're recruiting in 2025 too.

Just a big time winner. Has won multiple national championships with Takeover, back to back city titles with Sidwell, and an SC Next national title this year @ McDonough.
Reminds me of Kyle Anderson in terms of pace and effectiveness. Not a "wow" athlete. Not as good of a passer as Anderson, but a better shooter.

Haven't been on the board for a while, but this is such a HUGE get just have to chime in. I saw Caleb play a LOT over the last two years, when Sidwell has been top three (at least) in the DMV, and Williams has been a centerpiece. We went from "no chance/not even on the radar" to an unexpected W that I certainly didn't sense was possible or coming (thought he'd either follow his Sidwell predecessor Josh Hart to Villanova or several other DMV studs to Michigan). Was at an early Sidwell game in which Villanova had an assistant in the crowd and of course we were no where to be seen. This commitment says to me we are seriously back in the game locally -- in terms of our own focus, and players' willingness to look past the recent past and see the future favorably. And while I have some questions about Caleb's game ultimately (see below), I cannot overstate what a class act/supportive teammate he appears to be -- with an incredible nose for the ball (the gamewinner at the end of his soph year against then-Woodrow Wilson/now Jackson Reed the best examplar of that -- but by no means an anomaly; is a big part of his game: not an accident that he is right place, right time, a lot). And when he tweaked his knee early last year in the Sleepy Thompson tournament (ultimately won by Sidwell anyway), he was a strong sideline presence while he recovered the next several games/greeting teammates during introductions, etc. I do worry about his lateral quickness at both ends (in the DC final this last year he started trying to guard Robert Dockery, who was eating him up/so the the Sidwell coach put someone else on Dockery who did rather contain him) and his jumper needs some more consistency -- but he's got the size and temperament, and certainly seems to have the work ethic, to develop and make up for in hoops smarts what he may lack in outright fleetness.
In sum, HUGE get and upside here in a young man who is EXACTLY the type of player we should be thankful and proud to be getting, and maybe, just maybe, is a harbinger of local recruiting to come...

This is good news right? If he went to Nova this would be a 10 page thread of folks whining.
Don't get this board...

I think if this happened in March or if it happened in October, there would be a lot more buzz. It's just summer and people are on vacation, checked out, etc. I expect board activity will pick up susbtantially once we start playing and people start paying attention to Cooley. And if we are better than expected, it'll be even greater. Cooley has truly done an outstanding job on the Class of 2024 so far.
