I cannot imagine not wanting as many Hoya games as possible, regardless if they win by 100, lose by 100, or anything in between. To each his own. I hope they lose the next two by 100 and then we can delete this error of an era. Oh yeah ideally a 20+ point loss in the BET could probably, finally quell any fear I have left about any of the current staff being retained

Our soon to be ex-coach hasn't been interested in player development for the last 2yrs. Maybe 3yrs. I really don't think he plays Dante freshman year if the other Harris kid would have worked out. The last 3yrs Ewing has had tight benches and short ropes with freshmen. Dante beat out that Jalen kid, Dante was just better. Then Jalen took his ball home when he didn’t win the starting position. Dante was better than Jalen, no doubt. But Ewing was actually playing Jalen more minutes until he left. Jalen had the following minutes, then left: 26, 28, 30, 25, 27. Now maybe Ewing told him something in private but his playing time did not indicate a player who wasn’t going to get minutes.

Early line is Creighton by 18.5 and O/U 145.5. Both bets will likely turn on how McDermott deals with the last 6-7 minutes. Won’t be surprised at a back door cover. Will be SHOCKED by an actual W…

You would get enjoyment out of watching us lose by 100 for multiple games? I really wish I understood this idea of being a fan but not wanting the team to do everything it can to be as successful as possible (and I mean within the rules...I'm not advocating cheating, etc.). If you enjoy watching them lose every game, wouldn't you enjoy it even more if we had a season where we went 26-5 and made the Sweet 16? Or even better?

Of course I enjoy it more when the Hoyas win. I cannot describe the emotions I had during and after the BET victory in 2021. There has been nothing remotely like that since then, and that stinks for all of us fans. But my philosophy is not that the program owes me anything. To the contrary, being a Hoya fan, through thick or thin, is an incredible privilege, period. The debt is all of my side for having the chance to watch and support the team. To me, supporting the team means supporting the team. That means supporting the leadership, players, and philosophy for how GU wants to run the program. It does not mean going on diatribes about what I would do if I was the AD or President.
I am confident that the Hoyas will find success again, sooner or later. I will be happier then in supporting the team than I am now. But today, I am pumped up that there is a Hoyas game tonight. I wish I could fly out to Omaha and be there to cheer them on in person. I will rock my Hoyas gear all over the place now, all offseason, and for the rest of my life. Now and always, I am pulling for the Hoyas.

Since the Hoyas cannot defend the 3, Creighton will probably have a nice uptick in their 3pt% shooting

That is what happened, not a prescient Ewing abruptly determining that Dante was the better player and secretly informing Jalen that he would no longer start.

Going into tonight's last regular season Big East game, my math (always suspect) has the Hoyas' total margin of losses in all BE regular season game losses this year at 211 in 17 games (12.4 ppg), compared to last year's coincidentally exact same 211 total points in 19 games (11.1 ppg). And if not for the sportsmanship (pity?) of opposing coaches late... The total points for regular season confernce losses over total games for the two seasons averages to a little more than 11 (11.7). In Hoyas' two conference wins in that time -- over the other two worst teams in the conference BOTH years (Butler and Depaul tied for 9th last season) -- we won by another coincidental TOTAL of 11 points....
The average loss for the two seasons will probably grow after tonight's game and this season's will separate some more from last year, but regardless (and sorta to belabor the obvious) there is no question that there has not been ANY material improvement. As the long retired former DC Mayor Sharon Pratt-Kelly would say/gesture while campaigning (pointing at her wrist, sweeping across an open hand, shaping hands in the form of a steeple) "It's TIME ... to CLEAN... HOUSE."

But if we lost by say 10, ending up at -210, that would be an average of -10.5. That's almost worse than last year's -11.1 when you consider that it includes two wins.

Well this is certainly one way to avoid the complaints about not enough posts in the game thread...we all go on a Dante tangent. And like everything, both things can be true. If you look at the last two games Jalen Harris played, he was outplayed by Dante. Particularly the Nova game, where Jalen scored 2 points in 27 minutes and Dante scored 9 in 13. It was pretty clear Dante needed to play more, and I think the board spent a ton of time complaining in the moment. Yes technically Dante had not taken over but I dont think it was hard to project at this point. And then Jalen magically disappears. So yes, of course, there was never a formal announcement on why Jalen left, other than personal reasons (who knows). On the other hand, the most likely scenario was he was probably told either him and Dante we're going to split time more evenly (20 min each) or that Dante was going to start. You dont have to be a Ewing diehard to have that view. As it relates to tonight, i'll probably watch the first half and then call it assuming double digit deficit

Had Jalen stayed it’s possible we don’t win the BET either. It is hard to see Jalen not playing at all in the BET had he stayed. Trey Dickerson was pretty awful and Ewing played him a fair amount so no reason he wouldn’t have played Jalen too.

Well folks, I will be sitting and watching this game by myself because my family can't stand it when I start yelling at the TV.
Here is hoping that the stars align and we get a W.

AMEN to all of the above! Although I have kept yelling to a minimum, absent the criminal changed foul call at the end of the South Carolina game. There was some table pounding and screaming there.
