Good reviews. Just a few more impressions...
1. I hate to be so harsh, but Edge disappeared for long stretches. It's kind of strange because I felt like he could have asserted himself and taken it to the rack and at least picked up some fouls. Should be good to get him coached up a bit in the system. I think he has enormous talent and hopefully will be an impact player this year. 2. Jeff - again hate to be negative, but his outside shot has not been falling at all. It seems like last year he would make a lot of important threes, so maybe he just steps up when they are needed in "real" games. Also, I hope to see him more assertive that he has been in Kenner. He, too, could be taking it inside almost every time and trying to draw a foul. Instead, he seemed to stop a few feet from the basket and take off balance shots. That he didn't dominate (even with Roy standing in the way) is surprising, given his talent, strength, etc. 3. It was nice to see JTII sitting in his usual spot. GU players took turn sitting next to him - Jeff, then Marc, etc. 4. Ashanti - I echo other comments. I can't seem to get a read on him. And he's a senior! He'll be in control and nailing sweet jumpers one second and then dribbling off his foot in traffic and making questionable decisions the next.

People can call me the anti-Ignatius and whatever else, but color me very happy with Roy's development this summer. Who would have thought that he'd be the Kenner League MVP this time last year? Although they may not award it, he is his team's MVP, and I don't think folks who have seen Kenner play will disagree with me there. Roy's development is the most important thing that could have happened all summer for this team. We need him to make a solid contribution in the paint, and he is now more than capable of doing so consistently. It may not be 20/10 a night, but 10/8 is more than enough given our offense and our first and second options. Sorry that the frosh could not pick up the championship, but the fact that Hibbert's team could beat them with almost less on paper, even if you leave the frosh out of the equation, is a testament to Roy and his development and something that we should be very excited about as fans of the program.

I totally agree with you and I've been telling everybody that ever since that game...Roy is the best develop player this year (summer) for the Hoyas team...Crawford is the hardest working Hoya... nationalchamps, welcome to the Board. I can't tell you how many times I have backed Roy up on this board, another board, and in public. Everyone says how he should be doing X, Y, and Z. Well, when I see him headed to the gym at 630 a.m., I know he is doing it.

damn. 630 am. Now, I am worried that he will play so well this year that he will go pro. He is a Hoya and 7'3''. He will not have to show much to get some NBA love.

Roy is definitely not NBA material yet and I doubt that he would be ready even after this season give him some type and don't overhype him.
