Hoyatalkers, it's November and our annual season-long prediction contest is back for more and that means the 2022-23 Hoya Oracle Award is up for grabs!!! Again, congrats to conshyhoya for winning the 2021-2022 Hoya Oracle Award for the most wins in the season! RULES:1. The WINNNER of each Prediction Thread is the poster who correctly predicts the outcome of the game (team win or loss). 2. TIE-BREAKERS are determined by which posters' predictions are: (a) Closest to actual margin of victory or defeat (by points off) (b) Closest to Hoyas' actual score (c) Closest to Opponents' actual score (d) Closest to total score (e) Cleverness. 3. No predictions after game starts. 4. Scores can be changed up to gametime. Any changes after that point will not be considered. 5. If two posters have the same prediction, the earliest submitted prediction is the one that counts and the other poster’s prediction will be eliminated. For our new posters, here's an example of 2(a): Opponent won with a final score of 91-89. Everyone who picked GU to win is eliminated. Two posters predicted Opponent’s win, with Poster A predicting 78-66 and Poster B predicting 72-70. Poster A: (91-78) + (89-66) = 13 + 23 = 36 off the actual final score Poster B: (91-72) + (89-70) = 19 + 19 = 38 off the actual final score Thus, Poster A won by 2 points. Good luck to all! I'm confused. If the first tiebreak is margin of victory or loss, didn't Poster B win by correctly predicting 2 points? anyway Overcoming a rough liftoff half featuring a 34 point deficit and the all-too familiar outgoing transfer of two starters during the under 12 time out (both came back at Half on a "suggestion" from Ronny Thompson), the Hoyas utilized an incredible display of in-game coaching prowess from Kevin Nickelberry, who seamlessly wove Knight-like technical mastery and Gibbs-esque appeals to give 110% in a nasal drone excitingly reminiscent of the great Coach K, to trigger a historic 33-3 run over the last 8 minutes of the vesper half to make a bold statement that this is, emphatically, a new season. Coppin State 96 Georgetown 92 Margin of Victory is confusing you. The key is “points off” So really you should look at it as “Aggregate Points off the Real Score” instead of “Margin of Victory (Points Off)”

Gtown 79, Coppin 63. I am 100% sure we will have no idea what type of team we have until Northwestern at the earliest and if we do know, it won't be a good thing. Yeah team!
