Reads like the MAGA crowd who claim the election was stolen & 1/6 was Antifa driven It’s odd that the people who oppose an obvious conman and wanna-be autocrat like Trump are deranged, but the ones who buy Trump apparel, plaster nothing but Trump stuff all over every aspect of their lives, try to overturn elections in his name, and have made their support of him their entire personal identities are the totally reasonable ones. I think we can all agree that there are deranged lunatics on both sides.

Please leave political references like this out of the discussion, or move them to the Blue and Gray Board. Part of the reason Georgetown basketball is a fun distraction from life is getting AWAY FROM the political world and that nonsense. That some people need to bring politics into every discussion about everything is really indicative of the bigger cultural malaise of this country. (And yes, I do have strong feelings about politics, as most Georgetown alumni do, but this isn't the place to discuss it.) Anyway, please leave politics out of this Board. It's not productive, as the instant I saw the political reference I tuned out of whatever point you are even trying to make. Nothing wrong with the political analogy if it makes sense. This one, however, is f-ing ludicrous and, as noted above, completely backwards. Hey, I was simply exercising my rights under the law to audit the results of the Seton Hall games!

I’m sure this is true but you have to agree that quantity & type matters Both Nova and Gtown had good ball players last season is as true as your statement but we all know the two teams were very different..

Commenting as someone who is a regular on Blue and Gray. I think it was a disservice to Blue and Gray to move this thread here, rather than just close it down. One of the benefits of B & G is escaping from the incessant repetition of the same tired points in the Basketball and Recruiting threads. Now, we've snuck that dirty camel's nose under the Blue and Gray tent flap. I will follow my own advice and ignore that this thread is here.

We shouldn't have to close down a 270-page thread because one person threw a tantrum. There aren't a lot of great choices in this scenario, this seems like the least bad.

I’m glad the Admins moved the original post to the B&G board. I fully support the move.

This tweet sums up the "Lunatics on both sides" perfectly... Lol No it doesn’t With respect to those currently serving in Congress, it 100% does. I’d also add that one side cozies up to white supremacists by speaking at their events. There is no analogue on the left for Gaetz, Boebert, Greene, Gosar, etc.

I’m pretty sure you can find tons of people on Twitter right now calling for the death of certain Supreme Court justices. Talk about “wanting to end democracy”. Just as loony as the most ardent Trump supporters

Just as loony as the most ardent Trump supporters Twitter is a cesspool and isn’t too concerning to me. I find it much more concerning that those racist, anti-democratic imbeciles have risen from the cesspool, found their way to Congress, and are actively supporting and defending a guy who tried to overturn an election.

Exactly. "plenty of people on Twitter" is not the same thing as plenty of elected office holders and candidates for Federal and State offices, along with party infrastructure, as in the Texas GOP convention document.

Forget Twitter, someone was arrested two weeks ago for trying to kill Brett Kavanaugh. At least this deranged lunatic turned himself in.

So, in terms of his being a member of the Democratic Party, is not comparable. Do we even know if he was a registered Democratic voter? Sidebar on Kavanaugh. He's lucky he lives in Montgomery County, where the liberal Democratic administration provides full police protection.

And let's just ignore the hundreds or thousands of MAGA GOP insurrectionists who chanted " Hang Mike Pence", beat police officers and defaced and defiled the Capitol. Talk about false equivalence and whataboutism but that is a classic HoyaTalk "Republican" tactic. Only one party/cult supports domestic terrorism and seeks to subvert American democracy - the MAGA GOP. Who are the Democratic members of Congress who are as vile, despicable and driven by irrational, conspiracy theories as Boebert, Taylor Greene, Gosar, and Gohmert to name just a few?
