Only what I've seen on YouTube. He's strong, has an NBA body, average shooter, adequate handle, very athletic. He doesn't have a ton of highlight film however there is a ton of Wilson game footage, he wears number 3 for them. His game is very similar to Stanley Johnson who's signed a few 10 days with the Lakers this season a tweener small forward power forward type.

Buchanan was 2nd team All-Met two years ago as a Soph. He'll be a 1st teamer this year. That's solid work.

His 247 page Crystal Ball says VT is 100%. Don't even see Gtown in the list. Must be old info. Clearly not in line with his announcement today. Anybody know anything?
In the 2022 recruiting thread, poster says we don't need another 6'7" forward. It's not always the height, people. It's what you do with it, the head you play with. Juggy was 6'4" and Jamorko 6'9" & we all know what they did last year and how much we miss them now.
Wash Post story says he wants to play in the area, represent the area, make the area proud. Lots to like about that and about jump starting the DMV connections!

I would imagine if one opens up we would rather someone with experience from the portal but he does check a few boxes.

There is only one crystal ball, and its from a VT insider/follower...thus 100%...he has a 3.8 GPA...and recently on his senior night he put up a career high 40...he has a physically developed body and looks to me at first glance to be more PF at 6'7/225 than SF...in a recent interview said he had a very good relationship with PE and the staff, and when asked if he was concerned about the current record, he answered "no" and said that he had the game to help get the program back to a higher level...rebounding appears solid...don't know enough to comment on shooting ability/defense, but he definitely appears to be our desired type of player...very bright, physical, talented and local...

Just noticed he's ranked as high as #101 nationally here: www.prephoops.com/2022-rankings/He was also top 150 on 247 during his Sophomore year but dropped last year during his time off.

Sometimes people misunderstand the crystal balls--it does not mean that "the experts" are 100% sure that he's going to choose Virginia Tech. It means that of the experts who have made a prediction on where he'll end up, 100% of them have guessed VT. In this case there's only one person who has made a prediction and they predicted Tech. Though I do think VT may be the biggest competition, the crystal balls means next to nothing at this point. I know these things usually work themselves out but we don't have any schollies left. I would imagine if one opens up we would rather someone with experience from the portal but he does check a few boxes. At the risk of sounding like the "sky is falling"... given the prevalence of transfers in the college game now that the redshirt year is gone, and given how disastrous this season has been for us... I'd bet my house that we'll have AT LEAST one more scholarship opening. Honestly, we'll be lucky if we don't have 4 or 5 more scholarships come open.

Only reason he is going to VT is a certain coach who should be #1 on the list of the next coach.

Freeman could teach his Matador defense to the worst (or one of) defensive team in BE history. That would help a lot…

If you aren't planning for this, you haven't watched college hoops the past three years. Every team should expect 2 to 3 transfers. Last year we had Sibley, Berger and Wahab. Coaches should be planning for 2 not based off some knowledge of what the players are thinking, but because we clearly are like every other program in that regard and we are 0fer the BE season and need to upgrade at just about every single position. Whether that is through upgrading with offseason development of the players on the roster (preferable) or by bringing in better talent (needed in spots), that is just the reality of this sport. Now the squash team can probably focus on internal development but not your only revenue generating sport.
