There should be no shame for members of our team to give it all they have, even while losing. And the same for the coaches. It has got to be no fun to face teams with apparent superior talent game after game, yet still go all out.
So a shout out to each player and coach. I am proud of each one of you.
The shame is on those who post on this board, recognizing the situation, but go out of their way to criticize real people as if they are some inanimate objects void of feelings. Oh, they will counter, we are critiquing the play or coaching, not the people. Fine, then why is it necessary to repeat your posts in every thread and nauseam?

The coaches are professionals who make bucks that most people would be happy to earn. They should be judged by results, which are sad.
The players should be supported for being the students that they are and exempted from severe criticism for wins and losses.
The first is nothing like the second..

Yes, excellent job coaches. It’s hard to set this many records. Your obsession to post every time someone expresses even the slightest positivity about the program tarnishes the rest of us who are also ready to move on. I don’t want to be in the same camp as you.

I get the gist of the original post but if you've ever played organized sports and been on a bad team, that's just part of the deal. You give your best effort and, if you don't win, at least you know you did all you could (unless, you know, you're James Harden or Ben Simmons or Kyrie Irving). I suppose it's admirable but it's also just part of being on a team. I respect any athlete that goes hard regardless of the score. Thankfully, we have some of those people to cheer for throughout this brutal couple of seasons. It sucks to watch our Hoyas not have more success but, by the same token, working hard when things aren't going your way is something most of us learn at one point or another and have to keep plugging. Such is life. To bash individuals that we don't know personally on a message board makes little sense. It's a game. And, yes, we all want to see more wins. But, I've seen a lot of posts judging guys as people and not just their play. In nearly (if not all) cases, that's over the line, IMO.

Also, shout out to the students who showed up to the St. John's game the other day.
Great to have support from fans during the good and also the difficult times.
Go Hoyas!

I coached little league baseball, while in grad school. Since I volunteered a little late in the season, I was given players that no other team wanted. And yes, we lost our first eight games of the season by an average of 16-1 (I think the mercy rule was in effect). But the team did not give up and played as hard as they could. They were rewarded in the last game by winning 9-1. The next season they won three games, and the year after that, five games. I guess that is what life presents us. But keep on trying, no matter what. And no, no parent was asking for my resignation.

I have been locked up in Hoyatalk jail for ten days and ten nights so that is why I haven't been posting. I wasn't going to come back but when I saw this thread, I couldn't resist posting. First I want to say, I was at the Providence game and I was screaming as loud as I could to the guys telling them to keep their heads up high and keep playing all the way to the bitter end. So Patrick, the assistant coaches and the guys, if any should see this, we are with you guys and I especially want you to know that we love the Hoyas win or lose. Just keep playing guys, keep learning and never give up the fight!

To Coach Ewing, the assistant coaches and especially the guys, hang in there. Go hard tonight and play to the end. Coach get the guys off to a good fast start for both halves. Do not allow DePaul to get ahead in the game and we shall be alright. Hang in there guys! I'm rooting for you!!
