Props to Allie Augur, who had the key save on a St. John's breakaway with about 7(?) minutes left to preserve the shutout and the victory.

Loved seeing Hoya #1 fan Mike in the stands. He travels everywhere to see his ladies play. Met him in Cary, NC and of course at Shaw on multiple occasions. Great guy, great fan.
I just don't know what he's going to do when he can't yell out "Go Kelly Ann" at the top of his lungs next year.
Well done Hoyas. Keep up the good work.

Hoyas lock in a 3 seed, and will host Central Connecticut State in their opener.
Then, in what appears to be a show of either great respect or more likely lack thereof, if they win, they’ll host the winner of Santa Clara and Stanford. That’s right. The last two NCAA champs.
Not to look ahead of game one. But if they win that one, hopefully they can schedule the next one at 11:00 am.

Five Big East teams is absolutely not something I would have predicted. Being on the opposite side of Stanford and Santa Clara again... but this time for a second round matchup instead of the Elite Eight...and this time *Santa Clara* is the host and favorite... pretty wild! Given the lack of lights on Shaw and how early it gets dark in DC, chances are pretty good for a fairly early start in a potential 2nd round matchup. Maybe not 11, but noon feels likely.

Russky, the way it was explained to me is that there is a change due to Covid and travel that is not usual. This is from a graduated player who thinks she has the info correct. So instead of playing the lower seed (winner of SCU vs. Stanfurd game) in the second round at Shaw because we are the higher seed #3), we will be traveling to UCLA where the Stanfurd/SCU winner and us (presumptuous on Cen. Conn State), will play as well as UCLA. Then the two winner meet. I suspect it is due to 3 West Coast teams suspected to advance and one East Coast team.
I recall a few years back when Stanfurd and SCU met, SCU won in Palo Alto unexpectedly and they had to come to Shaw where we bought our ticket to the Final Four....2016, I believe.
Anyway that is the early info I have received for what it is worth. Would have been nice to have Shaw for the 'furd/SCU game.

If true, that’s pretty rough, since I thought the seed would get us at least 2 home games.

This is one of those times I would love to be wrong...But if at UCLA we would get to see the game due to proximity.

Ah yeah, you know what, it's slowly coming back to me...so hard to remember back to pre-Covid times... Now that I think about it, I don't think this scheduling is necessarily Covid-related, I think it's been this way for awhile. To get rounds two and three out of the way in a three-day span, you need to do mini-pods where all four teams are in the same spot. IIRC the host is the highest remaining seed. So it would be UCLA unless they were upset by the Anteaters of Irvine.

It probably doesn't help that the coaches poll appears to be filled out almost at random. According to it, we are below both Santa Clara AND Stanford!

Wow. When do the coaches do their voting? After a coupla, three fingers of single malt scotch. If correct, and I believe the date says Nov 9, 2021 at 10:10AM, at this time we have beaten #5 Rutgers, #14 Xavier, #21 Texas handily and we are seeded as noted above ahead of both Stanfurd and SCU.
And where do they collectively assign us?? #22........One loss in the last game of the season.
Well, again the Hoyas have to just show them...Total lack of respect. Go Hoyas.
