I think our best bet was to get him this year when he was considering reclassifying. Blue bloods will be on him next year.

What if I told you there was a reason coach spoke to Frankie Collins last night...? And that he'd already planned an announcement for tomorrow...
Is that something you might be interested in?

I will say this, if Pat goes all-out and reels in a stellar ‘21 recruiting class, perceptions would change quickly. This is my hope, as I try to be positive.

If I had to choose, I always preferred Frankie to Mac in 2020 and beyond, just saying. I thought it could've been them two together for maybe a year but just like Akinjo needs to be top dog, maybe that goes the same for Mac. Was the uncle right? Is he laughing and ridiculing us as I type this? This has been quite a day. Anyways Frankie is a no doubt top 50-60 recruit, and he would open the doors for more of the same way more than Mac could've. You think these 4 or 5 star kids are looking at Gtown and saying "oh look at how well Georgetown is developing Mac to maybe be a second rounder?". Heck no, they are looking at how programs can turn top 150 or so recrutis into first round/lottery picks. Like we did with Jeff and Roy. That's when guys like Freeman, Wright, and Monroe started coming. And Copeland, Peak, etc after Otto, even though they didn't exactly pan out.

If Pat could pull off a Frankie reclass or even just a commit, I think it would calm some waves down.

Ah. Well if it is just a top 10 and not a surprise commitment, I don't need to worry about refreshing all day.

We are the kings of the Top Ten List!
That said I do feel like we have a legitimate shot here...but what do I know.

From what I seen at the game he attended, him and his family seemed really excited.... causally optimistic , He will be a Hoya!!!

I would think (maybe overly optimistically?) that NY was referring to something more than just an announcement of a list where we are one of ten? Because I don't think that would be shocking or particularly exciting, just a small bit of hope.
So maybe Patrick contacted Frankie after the McClung news and told him that he would be a (the?) major focus of our offense next season?
Our hopes took a beating yesterday. They could use some resuscitation today.

Really no point in Collins coming in the fall, and he already stated he was not going to reclassify. There is no guarantee a season will take place this upcoming academic year. At this point, with things so unsettled at GU, what would he gain by making any kind of commitment? Best course of action for Frankie is to stay in HS, hope he gets a HS hoops season, keep all his options open, and reassess sometime later, like next spring.

Something came up, like, Mac transferred, and maybe I reclassify to 2020 and come in next year to run the show??? or Something came up, like, Mac transferred, dumpster fire at Georgetown, and I need to find a new tenth.

I'm afraid to be optimistic about anything, but the first one seems far more likely given that Coach Ewing had a phone call with Frankie on Tuesday. He'd probably just announce a list of 9 in the latter scenario. Although, it could also just be none of the above
