Offensively a pretty good half. But defensively awful. The defensive rebounding was terrible. Marquette was always going to take (and make) their share of 3s, but we have them multiple extra possessions. There is no way we can win if we keep doing that.

What has happened to Mac’s FT stroke from early in the season? Traded it in for hair tinting?

Pickett should have caught that. Feels like I’ve been saying that for three years. That’s who he is. Mac needs to shoot that.

The more he faces up the more effective he seems to be... He has a beautiful 3 stroke that he has shown the last two summers and at SC. Would be great to see more of it. Yurtseven often gets covered well when he plays face-up, but shorter teams in the middle allow him to play facing. I believe he can face up regardless of the size of the opponent, he's a 7 footer with a high release... Plus if the staff continues to make use of the side PnR, that will free him up also...

Why do teams make everything against us... We are shooting a better 3% than them. They are a 40% 3 shooting team and are making 42% today.

Poor half defensively, but a winnable game. The last 5 opponents have all scored at least 76pts with the last 3 scoring at least 80pts Which leads me to believe that the team just plays poor defense with a short bench.

Jamorko seems to sleep walk through games at times. Mac should have shot it.

Our rebounding is killing us, that is all.

I would have liked to have seen more on defense in the first half. Poor perimeter defense and way too many second chances for Marquette. It really seems like Marquette only has two scorers, but both are making us look silly at times.
This is a big game for both teams. We really need to hold serve at home. Hope we can get some stops in the second half.

I don’t have a good feeling on this one. I felt a lot better about the Creighton game. We look tired
We are due to regress offensively in the second half, so our only hope is they regress more and we can get them into foul trouble.

no one but Yurtseven is making an impact today and our energy just doesn't look that great. McClung had a couple of nice buckets but not a good half for him overall, he should've shot that last one instead of forcing a pass. Pickett played solid D but can't buy a hoop.
Jagan and Qudus both shot pretty well, hopefully they both continue to play well. I think the length of Marquette's wings and forwards is really bothering our guys and making the difference in some of these 50/50 balls, but it is what it is. Gotta turn up the energy and effort and hope other guys than Omer can get some shots to go down.
Howard has had some open looks but also canned several with a defender in his shorts - all you can do is keep playing him as tight as possible and don't get discouraged. Eventually he has to start missing some of those tough shots if we keep making him work hard for them.

What has happened to Mac’s FT stroke from early in the season? seems like his touch has deserted him ever since the eye poke - his Big East shooting stats have been dismal

Gotta stay on people tighter and not lose them off screens (Mac)...person being screened needs to step out on shooter much faster...gotta control D boards much better...need to get more people to contribute offensively/make some shots ( Allen, Moseley, Pickett, Blair)...go into Yurt every available opportunity (both their centers have two fouls) and if they collapse he can pass to open shooters and we just have to knock down shots...value the ball and don't force things early in the shot clock...getting good shots with every possessions is critical...double Howard when he gets the ball on occasion to force him to give it up...stay on Anim...Go Hoyas!

Pickett was absolutely dreadful offensively in the first half I honestly just think that's going to be the story of his career - the light has just never come on. Waste of a hell of a nice physique.

He looks so much better working in the midrange and outside instead of just concentrating on post play.
