A geezer moment here. Why the black sports bras? What am I missing? They probably house 'wearable' technology that tracks thinks like movement, speed, heart rate, etc. That is my guess. Times have changed with young men wearing sports bras though.

Heartiest congratulations to the men's soccer team. Awesome stuff. I hate watching soccer, but I was prepared to watch the game yesterday, until I saw it was on ESPNU, which we don't get.

Tons of data. I wonder if the soccer coaching staff has access to that data during the game? They typically track workouts year-round so you can really tell when vitals start to spike due to over-exertion. With the substitution rules in college soccer, you can pull that player immediately, let them relax, and always have guys that are fresh and not over exerted on the field.

But would be interesting. It's also interesting to note that Georgetown won this with a general strategy that takes advantage of those college rules -- Wiese plays 18-19 guys, and subs 20+ times in a game, keeping guys fresh. It's very smart if you have the depth.

What an achievement!
For those who haven't done so- I strongly advise catching a match at Shaw Field next season. The talent on this team is remarkable and their style of play is extremely visually appealing.

Strongly recommend even on replay...especially for those who are casual soccer fans. Also, the Hoyas playing style is wonderfully skillful and entertaining to watch. Big props to Coach Wiese.

As a Long time MLS season ticket holder, I would love to see the Union play as entertaining and elegant a brand of soccer as the Hoyas do.

I stopped buyingMLS season tickets when it was clear the ownership didn’t care about the product. I can’t think of a team playing on this side of the pond at any level that plays a more entertaining and skillful style.

I'm not even a Union fan but I caught a bunch of their games. The Hoyas are fun to watch, but the National Title Game wasn't the prettiest example of their play. They dissected Stanford on a drenched field. UVA made the team work for it and it was pretty choppy, both ways, as you'd expect when two of the best defenses in the NCAA are on the field.

The men's soccer team gave a giant boost in the Division I Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings. The Hoyas stand 9th in the country with other contributions from the women's soccer team, and the men's and women's cross country teams.

You can't appreciate the speed at which high level soccer is played until you see it in person. The conditioning of these athletes is second to no sport.
