With sudden scholarship openings and a need for guards specifically for next year, here’s a thread to discuss 2020 juco’s. Here’s one to look at: Tae Hardy, PG, Pearl River CC

I live by NMMI and played HS ball for his coach. I'll check him out and report back.

We don’t need another project big man, but the clips show someone with some range on his shot (tall perimeter player). Someone to look into at least. .

Can never have too many IMHO... If he can contribute, definitely. But, our roster already has 3 centers next year, 2 of whom are definitely projects. I don't think you can have more than 2 projects at the same position at any single time. This is especially so when you consider we are light on guards for next year.

Good to upgrade, but may cause issues with playing time.

Agreed, a lot to like in that video. IMHO you can never have too many long athletes, especially guys who can protect the rim and even space the floor a bit. As far as whether we "need another project big", I think it's naive to think that the roster as currently constructed will stay intact into the future. Yes we brought in several big guys last year, but will all of them be here for 4 years? We see time and again that a number of things can happen including transfers for playing time, early entries, discipline issues, etc. Just a couple weeks back some people were questioning the need for recruiting Sibley, and citing the presence of guys like Leblanc and the committed Terrance Williams as reasons why another forward didn't seem like a need. It's often not as simple as a coach looking at his current roster and asking himself "Ok, where are the gaps?" and then going out and pursuing that position. Sometimes it is (ie. R.J. Davis/Dante Harris recruitment) but in a lot of cases by the time you land a guy who fills a perceived roster gap, a new gap will have already presented itself. Good coaches are usually recruiting all positions at all times to stay ahead of that. The scholarships always work themselves out.

Also 4 Cs isn't too much to have if you're going to have a C on the court at all time. My only concern with getting this guy would be the lack of class balance at the 5.

I like the idea of another big especially if two of our bigs play PF. That's a lot of length and blocks to boot.

Damn, this big has skills. Smoother shooting form than Wilson w similar athleticism and more height. A lot to like, but only Pat and staff know what they are expecting from our other bigs next season.

Seems surprising a 7'1" guy with the skills he shows in the video wouldn't have been signed by someone in D1....he must have really slipped through the cracks.

Per tweet, we’re looking at Rudi Williams out of NE Okla CC. Looks like a player...
