PC looks terrible, Reeves in particular... Marquette is getting whooped too, I have to slow down thinking the BE is up this season... The great Ed Cooley down 11 at the half to a Northwestern team that just lost to Merrimac College. Must be the raucous crowd in Evanston.

Northwestern 50, Providence 31. Think about that...

He deserves all the venom you want to send his way tonight, terrible performance so far...

At least Marquette is showing some life...
Even Uconn got smacked by St. Joes, not a good look for the BE...

Luckily Northwestern is really bad. Providence still has a chance here.
If Pipkins can stop chucking long enough to give somebody else a shot,..

Marquette has fought back nicely in the 2nd half, hopefully they can close it out...

Providence can't beat Northwestern? Oof... Cooley one of the most overrated coaches in the nation. Could probably make the argument that if it wasn’t for JT3, Cooley might have been fired by now.

Purdue looks like they fell in love with the 3, they went away from Big Boy in the middle. Live by the three....
Hopefully we can learn from this.

Villanova has some major flaws this year. The most pressing one is no body on the roster can create a shot for themselves. They are slow footed straight line players. Last year both Booth & Paschall could make a play and get themselves a shot when needed. Samuels game was last seen on the back of a milk carton. A lot of pressure on Brian Antoine when he gets back as he will potentially be the only player that can get them a bucket consistently when the offense breaks down. Playing a slow half court style doesn't help this roster either. They also have ZERO rim protection.
Jay Wright the magician is really going to have to pull a rabbit out of his hat this season. I'm not sure he can scheme away this teams limitations like he did last year. It's early but boy that game was glaring.

I am reminded of the quote that things are never as good or bad as they seem regarding other teams in the Big East

So just to get this straight ... in 24 hours we went from (paraphrasing)
“it’s going to be tough to finish higher than 8th in the Big East”
To
“The Big East is wide open”
?
Gotta love the preseason ...

Obviously Providence was missing the guy whom one guru tweeteed as being the best postup big man in the Big East, Nate Watson.
The Hoyas may have two guarantee wins against the Friars if they play zone defense the entire time.
