Well, the Hoyas have only played 53 possessions without James and Josh on the court vs. 510 with them.
The analytics not unexpectantly are ugly. Offense .77 (Akinjo & Leblanc off) vs .98 (on)
Defense .72 vs. .96

I wonder if we will see an improvement to the mean for players like Allen and Blair given the different situation and different line-ups. I’ve attached the season to date PPP stats as a record.

I’ve attached the season to date PPP stats as a record. I hope so. Terrell Allen's O rating now is 68.3, but at Drexel and UCF it was 105.4, 92.5, and 107.3. So, one might expect that while his numbers may be down because of better competition at Georgetown, he should do a lot better than he has thus far. My guess at the starting lineup would be Allen, McClung, Mosely, Pickett, Yurtseven - which is not a bad lineup. There's just very little depth.

So KenPom shows the most frequently used line-ups over the last 5 games.
Akinjo/Mac/Mosely/Pickett/Yurt have played 25.3% of the possessions in the last 5 games.
No other line-up has more than 6.1%

Should Allen take Akinjo's spot for significant minutes I think most of us expect, then we could be an improved defensive squad.

The sammple size is small, but here is an analysis I am looking forward to seeing over time.
Here is the PPP for our 3 guard starters for James vs. for Allen. (This is a 3 player analysis)
Offense Defense ON OFF ON OFF
James / Mac / Jagan (219 possessions)
1.03 .95 .92 .95
Allen / Mac / Jagan (44 possessions)
1.27 .96 .89 .95
Early results to date indicates offense is 23% more effective and defense is 3% more effective.

Thanks again for the data. Did all those 44 possessions occur in the Ok State game? I'm sure most did, but I do think that highlights Ewing was struggling with the rotation. Whether James was here or not would think we would've tried that combo at some point.

Is there any way to get the basic offense/defense stats for the last two games versus the previous ones?

From what I can tell, this is by FAR the best Kenpom rating the Hoyas have had under Ewing.

From what I can tell, this is by FAR the best Kenpom rating the Hoyas have had under Ewing. It is. We started at #55 both this year and last year, but that's largely based on projections, so I would not put much weight in it. Because of movement of other teams, we are now #47, but still a big improvement after the last two games. In the 2017-2018 season, we never got above 70 and finished 95. Last year, we started at 55, but quickly fell under 100 by the beginning of December, and ended at 100. The last time Georgetown was above 50 on KenPom was December 28, 2016.

Let’s just say this line-up trio is working- nearly .5 PPP differential when these 3 are on the court

Hah, thanks, clearly I was blind. I know Hoops Lens does not have it, but does anybody have shooting stats? For example, layups/dunks v. jumpers etc.? Back in the day, Hoya Prospectus did those stats.
