Does anybody know the difference in PPP between when LeBlanc is on/off the floor? Offense 1.04. Vs. .95 Defense. .89 Vs. .96 Just further proof he needs to play as much as possible.

I was looking at James Akinjo on and off the floor PPP data season to date which I found interesting.
The delta on offense for Akinjo is .3 (1.06 vs. .76)
The dela on defense for Akinjo is -.08 (.96 vs. .88)
I was a bit surprised to see the negative delta on defense. Note the possessions are 245 to 88 for on vs. off the floor.

The top two player PPP differential combinations:
LeBlanc, Josh--Mosely, Jagan Mosely, Jagan--Wahab, Qudus Gardner, Myron--Mosely, Jagan Akinjo, James--Wahab, Qudus LeBlanc, Josh--Yurtseven, Omer Gardner, Myron--LeBlanc, Josh Akinjo, James--Gardner, Myron Akinjo, James--LeBlanc, Josh Akinjo, James--Mosely, Jagan LeBlanc, Josh--McClung, Mac
The analysis I have seen previously with this data is a simple count on the number of times a player is a member of a Top 10 combination:
Josh 5 James 4 Jagan 4 Myron 3 Qudus 2 Omer Mac
Josh and James are no surprise to me.
It is interesting to see Jagan there given that KenPom describes him as 'nearly invisible' from a usage metric @ 11.2%
Myron is a bit of surprise given what popular opinion on the board thinks of him. I think he is a diamond in the rough.

Here are the worst two-player combinations season to date.
Blair, Jahvon--Wahab, Qudus Alexander, Galen--Wahab, Qudus Alexander, Galen--Gardner, Myron Blair, Jahvon--Gardner, Myron Allen, Terrell--Wahab, Qudus Allen, Terrell--Pickett, Jamorko Allen, Terrell--Gardner, Myron Allen, Terrell--Blair, Jahvon Akinjo, James--Alexander, Galen Alexander, Galen--Blair, Jahvon
And the simple count:
Blair 4 Alexander 4 Allen 4 Qudus 3 Myron 3 Pickett Akinjo
More detail on the 3 most prevalent on the list.
Blair Offense .86 1.03 Defense .95 .93 Galen Offense .92 1.0 Defense 1.0 .91 Allen Offense .72 1.09 Defense .81 .99

The offense makes sense, and to me it's less James and more the general shift of Ewing going starters and bench. I'd think Yurt7 and other starters might have a similar discrepancy, although admittedly maybe not as large. For defense, I'll fully admit Akinjo kinda gets a pass on his defense and he's been a little slow on close outs and has been the victim of his share of blow-by's. I'd be curious how Akinjo defense looks w LeBlanc and without LeBlanc. I think he is legitimately that good on that end that he can single-handedly swing some of these metrics.

I was thinking of James' 245 possessions, did he do better defensively in the 60 w Josh vs.the 185 without him? Ultimately the defense was the same at .96 although I have to admit that offensive jump is incredible. Granted the answer is we're probably at too small a sample size especially considering there are only 60(!!) possessions where they've been together and imagine half were the 2nd half vs. Georgia State.

From earlier point of conversation... When can we trust a team’s stats? This is NBA based analysis but I think it gives us some insight into college as well. fansided.com/2017/12/21/nylon-calculus-team-stats-noise-stabilization-thunder/Stat # of games Pace 4 3PAr 4 FTR 5 KOBE 5 AST% 6 Opp. 3PAr 7 Win% 8 Net Rtg 8 TOV% 10 KOBEdef 10 2PT% 11 ORB% 11 KOBE3s 11 TS% 12 EFG% 12 KOBE3sdef 12 Off Rtg 13 Opp. EFG% 14 Opp. FTR 14 DRB% 15 REB% 15 Opp. TOV% 15 FT% 16 Def Rtg 16 SHAC 16 Opp. 2PT% 18 SHAC3s 25 3PT% 26 SHACdef 26 SHAC3sdef 28 Opp. 3PT% 33

If a watched pot never boils, does the same apply to a refreshed hoops analytics website?

I’ve been waiting to look at some of the PPP stats and combinations from last night. Alas, Hooplens has still yet to update. Anyone know how often it refreshes?

For those interested, here is how our guys stack up in offensive efficiency so far. Again, keep in mind because it's still early, some guys haven't played a ton so it's a fairly small sample:
Mosely: 117.5 Yurtseven: 115.1 Wahab: 111.7 LeBlanc: 110.0 Gardner: 106.9 Pickett: 105.9 Akinjo: 103.5 McClung: 101.2 Alexander: 99.9 Blair: 78.9 Allen: 65.7
Overall, this largely tells us what we already know, and the numbers are more meaningful for the starters who have played more minutes. Allen's offense has never been this bad in his career, so I'd like to chalk it up to a bad start, but it's hard to say thus far.

Obviously, these offensive efficiency numbers have to be taken with a grain of salt when Mosely is #1 and he does not shoot in 25 minutes vs. Duke, and 2.5 FGAs in 25.5 mpg for the season so far.

I think this is a great stat for recruiting. The Hoyas put up a lot of points.
