I'm really wondering why this kid is so lightly recruited. If he's really the fastest (or even one of the fastest) guards in his class, can shoot the 3 as well as his stats show (48%), and his coach who played in the ACC thinks he could be the best PG in the state (even giving some leeway here for hyping your own kid), it seems like he has ability to play. Just the speed and shooting would seem enough to get notice from a major school besides us. Did Pat and staff just really see something others did not? How does a talent like Ja Morant end up at Murray State? Kids get overlooked all the time because they lack ideal size or athletic upside. Or the powers that be only see NBA measurables as the starting point. I trust Pat's eyes here. He has Akinjo as his barometer so if he offered the kid he must see similar attributes and intangibles, not to mention talent. And if he's as fast as they're saying, he'll definitely be able to impact the team and the opposition when he gets on the court. Looking forward to seeing the kid ball.

Do you know why the economist doesn’t pick up a $100 bill that he sees on the street? Because if it really was a $100 bill, he figures someone would have picked it up already. Sometimes there is great value in just making your own assessments and not relying on others.

Who remembers the days of half court offense, longing for it to speed up? Who remembers the days of only having one point guard or a combo guard at point? Who remembers the days of only having one true point guard? I think those days are GONE!

Welcome to the hilltop! Height is overrated in college. He has speed and a shot, two things that are more important. Also Pat has already commended him on his heart, the most important aspect of a successful college basketball player.

I have a good feeling about this kid...throw the rankings/ratings out the window...he plays for a small, probably somewhat unknown school in the middle of nowhere in Tenn....what we KNOW is that we need a point guard for next year...we lose Allen (a pg)and Moseley (a combo guard)...there's no backup to Akinjo... after losing out on Davis, there don't seem to be any blue chip type pgs on our radar, and with Akinjo as our starter, it limits our options...Harris has high praise from his coach, a top former ACC player...he has evidently had a growth spurt to 6'...is incredibly fast (a major asset for a pg), can involve his teammates and run an offense (9 assts per game last year), can shoot the three at a high level (another very important attribute), and has the toughness/heart that PE so values...all things considered (and if he weren't sure PE would have waited), I think we have a winner considering all these factors...welcome aboard, Dante...

Not for nothing but Sleepy Floyd was an unknown player. Different day and age, yes. But how nice would something even suggesting a redux of that be?

How about just a solid backup pg, who can be a good system guy, and won't chase away a higher ranked recruit down the line? I think that's more of a realistic expectation rn. If I was going to compare him to someone it would be this kid. 247sports.com/player/kihei-clark-46045735/www.d1circuit.com/roster_players/17820366Nothing about Kihei's game is going to make you say wow, but UVA doesn't cut down the nets without him. He was a excellent on D for them, very fundamentally sound, and a ball mover on offense who didn't make many mistakes. Undersized, overlooked, but played with a lot of heart, and is a solid system guy.

Harris played for Bmaze Elite on the Under Armour circuit, and was teammates with Jaden Springer, a top 2020 prospect who just committed to the University of Tennessee.
At UAA Nationals, Harris led his BMaze Elite 17U team to the title game without Springer. His stats during that impressive run were 14.1 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. He shot 57% from the field, including a scorching 48% from three-point distance.

Most of this audience is only concerned with a recruit if they have been given 4 or 5 stars next to their name from a group of reporters who never ever played the game at even a moderate level. Any idiot can turn on the TV and see that Kwahi Leonard or LeBron James can play. Just like an idiot can walk into a high school/AAU shoe circuit tournament and after a short while be able to identify the best players. Its much harder and takes a real understanding of the game to recognize the nuances that a prospect like Kihei brings to the table. There is no reason why Harris can't contribute to this program becoming/maintaining as a BIG EAST and. eventually National Title Contender. People lose me on here the moment they start crapping on a recruit when the only thing they know about him is whether or not he has stars next to his name. There are plenty of prospects with stars next to their name that flame out quickly...

Curtis Staples was a good point guard, he should be sound fundamentally and ready to go.coached up by a good coach, I think he will be a good player.go Hoyas.

His AAU coach Maze said he reminds him of Ty Lawson...I think worst case he's a very competent/talented backup initially, and possibly a very good pg in his own right moving forward...glad to have him...

We all fall into the trap of 4-5star guys...its clear he has tremendous upside. RJ felt like he was blueblood material, Harris feels like he is Power 5 and seems eager to put in the work. I like the fact the they kept his recruitment under wraps. 2-3 yrs we may look back and say "wow how did we poach him from Tenn".
