Is there a tailgate planned for the Columbia v. Georgetown game?

Hoyas strip sack Columbia QB to set up a red zone drive at the CU 17, and after a few plays, Moultrie takes in another TD! Hoyas up 14-7 at the half.

A Brunel to Tomas 40-yard pass play helped the Hoyas cross midfield, and after bogging down in the red zone, this time they convert the FG.
Hoyas 17-7 5:07 to go in the 3rd.

Hoyas defensive dominance kept up (forcing 4 turnovers) and the offense started to catch up toward the end, grinding out a solid final drive for a touchdown, and a 24-10 win.
Given that this was looking like the toughest opponent on the GU schedule, looks like a good sign for the season ahead, and wipes away some of the disappointment from the opening loss at Davidson.
Hoya Saxa!

Great win. Watched the game and our guys adjusted nicely to the early offensive movement by Columbia. That score right before the half was big for momentum and we really buckled down from there in against a tough opponent. Shaping up to be a fun season.

Additionally, that “illegal forward pass” we were called for was the most egregious call I’ve seen in football at any level. To have that call stick even after the review is more than baffling, it defies all human belief. Luckily, it didn’t cost us the game. Good on the team for not letting that get in their heads.

signature win for the program. I had pleasure of witnessing the game. to beat al Bagnoli (very well respected Ivy coach) in front of a large home opener crowd at Columbia was big. that 'forward pass' wasn't the only egregious ref call …… how about the strip sack fumble recovery that was erased for a dubious and inadvertent facemask penalty. it occurred (against us) in 3rd quarter deep in our territory - so, instead of getting the ball or at least pinning a large loss on Columbia - they retained the ball and were awarded a 15 yard gain. incredible. one of worst calls I have ever seen (the face mask - if there was one - had absolutely nothing to do with the turnover). refs throughout the game were giving very generous 'spots' on Columbia rushing plays. anyway, all to no avail - GU prevailed and won big. that Q4 drive engineered by Brunell was an absolute thing of beauty. he's a very good player and talented. not to mention Tate, Xavier, Bowers etc.., who lead an outstanding defense. Hurst is an exceptional punter also. this team has some exciting pieces. HC Scarlata deserves accolades. Beat Cornell !!!
