I played for Stepinac and am still in touch with the program to a degree--I know he has at least some interest in Gtwn and his father knows PE a bit. Will try to find out more.

Not a lock Wow....no love from Stepinac....being that we are actively recruiting there 2 best players, you would think they could put the "G" up there somewhere....smh

Doubt it means anything--to be fair however Gtwn does not show much love to kids from Stepinac on the admissions front historically--even though I and another kid from my year went to Gtwn, that was an exception. Stepinac has had much better luck getting kids in elsewhere including the ivies. Gtwn typically favors kids from wealthier schools nearby.

That's pretty good but would have to think most yrs the range is 0-2 with 2 being a lot--your year must have been all time high

The trend is away from feeder schools, due to desire to diversify the student population.

What a crappy way to begin a new week. At least we have a game on Wednesday.

What a crappy way to begin a new week. At least we have a game on Wednesday. Here's the Faustian bargain Griffin is playing: By 2021, Griffin will be joining a program that makes no pretense that it is anything more than the ACC version of the University of Kentucky. Every year they will bring in five players with no interest in anything but consuming an NBA draft pick. But if you don't get selected as a freshman, your career opportunities tail off considerably as you are over-recruited every single year (see Javin DeLaurier and Joey Baker). His head coach will be turning 75 while Griffin is as a freshman and time waits for no man--remember, John Wooden retired at 65, Dean Smith at 66, and both seemed old then. Even Adolph Rupp was done by the age of 70.

The Kentucky model will be emulated by those who can attract the 5-stars. The players that don’t pan out transfer to make room for the new crop.
