And you didn't even include Ighoefe and Wilson! You are right LC! I was focusing on the rotation guys... or, the ones I assume will be added to the regular rotation. It does appear both Timmy and Malcolm have serious long-term potential! Pat continues to build his roster and program.

Confess to not having seen him much at UCF, but the scouting report seems almost too good to be true. Athletic, good defender, handles the ball, sets up his teammates, and shoots 40% from 3? What is he NOT good at, because it sounds kind of like a perfect point guard.
I think this shows that Ewing has a stronger propensity for "true" point guards than his predecessor did. Obviously we have one in James, but it seemed like we were looking for a second. I feel like if we had this same roster under the previous administration we would have been content to let Mac or Jagan be the backup point guard, even if they were not traditional table setters, just as guys like DSR, Jabril, Jason Clark and others did. But the pursuit of Allen even with Akinjo in the fold indicates that Patrick wants a traditional point guard out there all the time. His strong pursuit of guys like R.J. Davis supports that idea too.

Really like the Allen pickup for a lot of reasons noted above, but also the fact that we keep flexibility going forward. While the ‘19 class of freshmen recruits is a little underwhelming, the additions of Yurt, Alexander, and Allen far exceeded my expectations.
With the way the sport is going, the transfer and JUCO pickups are becoming just as important for a program (look how Texas Tech, Nevada, Gonzaga etc have benefited) and Pat is knocking it out of the park on this front.

Welcome to the Hoyas, and welcome home too!! We look forward to your contributions to the success of our team. We pick up a skilled guard who understands the presence and capabilities of playing with big guys. That, his experience and leadership can only help! Go Hoyas!

I'll repost my comment from the recruiting section...
Wow, he is the son of a childhood friend of mine and I didn't even know that his son played college basketball until my brother received a text from his father after UCF made the tournament.
His father is Leroy Allen who played at Dematha and then Hofstra University. When Leroy graduated Hofstra, he was the All-time Steals leader at Hofstra until Speedy Claxton broke his record.
Leroy is a great person from a great family so I'm certain that Terrell is a fine young man and I am excited he'll be playing for the team that I root for.

If he can give a reliable 20 min a game, hit 38% from 3, play lockdown D, and help facilitate and reduce our TOs I’ll be thrilled. Nice to have a guy with some tourney experience as well.

Two things jump out to me.
2.5:1 TO/A ratio in 30 mpg.
He’s a 6’3” PG with good size and length.
Great one year plug before we land RJ Davis (😀)

My last name is Allen but there is no relation. Leroy and my older brother where best friends when we were young and actually attend the same church today but I personally haven't seen him in several years.

Terrell Allen – UCF
2018/19 Stats Starting PG on 24-9 team -- all 33 games 30 mpg 6.7 ppg 4.3 apg 3.7 rpg 1.7 t/o 1.3 spg 2.5 Asst to TO ratio 2.5 PF/game - only fouled out once FG % -- 43.0 FT % -- 72.4 3pt% -- 40.6 Solid numbers all around. Hoyas add a quality PG to a strong roster. Players lost from last season
Jessie Kaleb Greg Trey AddedYurtseven Wahab Alexander Allen Net positive, plus a year of experience for our three, first team ALL BE Freshmen. That FT% isn't the best though for a PG. Ok, I'll step away from the keyboard now.

Bu-bu-but UCF played 4 teams with RPI of 275+ last year, including 2 teams 300+, and only beat one of those teams by 11. So I’ll believe it when I see it ... /s

Bottom line is that if either of our backcourt starters are struggling or hunting for their shots ...we now have a solid back up who can run team. As much as I like Jagan, he was just too inconsistent to be that guy.
Of all the new guys joining the team....Allen is right behind Omer in terms of the impact he will have next year.
