National Champions!!! What a team! What a program! I was on the edge of my seat all game, but the players looked relaxed up to the final block of UVa's PK. Just wow!
Btw, how sweet was the sound of GU's Fight Song in the stadium each time we scored... we need the band at basketball games to play it a lot more during games...

Just heard Coach interview on SiriusXM soccer channel. Wonder if he slept last night?!
2 things of note: (1) He jokingly talked about getting revenge on UVA for knocking the Dartmouth team he played on in the 80's out if the NCAA's.
(2)Said he has already started thinking about how next year's squad will fit in the new recruits - called it "the curse of the college coach".

Tough loss. In the big picture, this one does not hurt and is good training for what the boys will see in post-season. Just shocking to see the offense sputter after such a great start to the season. On second look, the absence of Sean Zawadzki was a key factor. At full strength (which we have yet to see) this team is a legitimate title contender nationally. If only I had the nerve to gamble....

Just re-watched the shootout. Amazing poise by the freshmen. I can't imagine the pressure on every kick.

Even my successful early action candidate for Georgetown had a great time last night watching the soccer team take the national title! It may be the event that causes him to enroll.

Coaching Staff named national staff of the year by United Soccer Coaches. Second time for Coach Wiese who won in 2012 as well.
Well-deserved recognition for this season and consistent excellence as a program.

He has done an amazing job, no doubt about it. He recruits student athletes of character who fit his vision and styles of play. The closeness of this year's group was certainly key to their ultimate success. So proud of Coach Wiese and his staff!

Well-deserved recognition for this season and consistent excellence as a program. Not only that, but former assistant Josh Shapiro and his staff received the D-III award after leading Tufts to the national title. The Wiese coaching tree is already bearing tremendous fruit.

One of the most enjoyable parts of the College Cup experience is getting to hear from some of the players in their own words. Case in point:

As nice a young man as you could want to meet. Good to see him get some media coverage.

However, the friendship shown him by the boys over the last $ years and th memories of those moments are better than any item... Make Dan Helfrich buy him one - he's got the money to spare Seriously, though, the psychic income of this championship far outweighs any totem. It's... it's just nice to see things go so right for such good people, for a change.
