Although there was a time (after the 2007 FF) that III was in the discussion for NBA jobs, by the end of his tenure, he simply was not considered a top D1 coach. He was never a great in game coach, his recruiting started to falter over time (Otto saved him for a couple years, but the disaster 2014 class finished him off), and with the rules change it seemed that his system (which had changed significantly over time, but was still broadly based on Princeton principles) stopped working.
It should thus come as no surprise that until now his name has not really come up for any openings. Its possible that a lower tier major conference school would give him a chance, but in all likelihood if he has the hunger to return to the sideline, it would have to be with a mid-major. I do think he can be successful, perhaps as Johnny Dawkins as done at UCF.

First thing he will need to recruit a center who can stand at the top of the key and swipe at opposing guards. Lol

I would hate for 3 to get the GW gig....there would be a lot of pressure for us to play them and I actually wouldn't want any parts of that...that would be in 3s ballpark because he coaches best as the underdog.....

Playing them would good for the city. In my opinion we should being playing an all-inclusive city tournament.

Playing in the Big 5 has certainly not hurt Nova—miserable bastards that they are Here, here. Not looking to hijack the thread, but they can do a doubleheader of the four Division I programs in DC (GU, GW, Howard and American) as a start, and expand to a "Big 4" if the interest is there. No need to expand beyond the borders of the District (i.e., University of College Park) to get to five teams like Philadelphia.

If playing the local schools was replacement for Coppin State or Eastern Shore, it’d be an improvement, but I don’t otherwise see a reason to do it. There aren’t a lot of OOC opportunities and I wouldn’t want a big chunk set aside for the local schools.
Maybe JT3 wants to stay in the DC area, but otherwise from a facilities and salary perspective, I think he could do much better.
I also don’t see why JT3 being at GW should make us any more likely to schedule them.

We forget these coaches have families and friends. I assume JT3 still lives in D.C. area? If so GW would be a perfect fit.

We've had seasons when we played American, Maryland and Howard. Just needed GW...

The point of playing them would be butts in the seats instead of 3,000 people for an OOC game.

St. Joseph’s University job just opened up in Philadelphia. It would be perfect for him

Not quite sure I understand this hire. Christian is a Shaka acolyte, but his teams have generally been pretty mediocre, with the exception of the tiny guard he had at MSM.

He had a group that overachieved quite a bit at Siena this year.
