6'7" Wing from Orangeville ON Prep. 4 Star by 247 says Georgetown is recruiting him hardest. HS teammate of Michigan's Ignas Bradzeikis. Potential, but unlikely, reclassification to 2019.

Must have missed this but looks like Coach Waheed and Coach Ewing made a trip across the border to check in with Tyrese Samuel (offer) and Alexander Moncrieffe (offer). For the longest time we’ve used the word upside with Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe and even went as far as saying that he could end up the top player in the class when we look back 10 years from now. Moncrieffe is supremely gifted with long physicals and elite athleticism. It’s not really debatable that there is a more athletic Canadian in 2020. He’s beginning to capitalize on his natural gifts and using them to mold a skill set as a three man. What we really like about M-A is his defensive versatility. As his body continues to pack on muscle mass, he’s going to be even more of an asset defensively. Recruitment Hot: Georgetown, Vanderbilt, Seton Hall, Tulane, Arizona St Warm: Florida northpolehoops.com/2018/10/07/2020-canadian-national-player-rankings-top-10/#V8UCXkR1ijkAt5Os.99

Ewing clearly likes athletic types, which I think is as good approach. He did pull in Blair from Canada, and it's an area we should certainly recruit from.

Very exciting potential, especially if he can shoot to go along with his other assets...

Also involved in Basketball Without Borders - which I believe is same program that Timothy Ighoefe is part of.

Connections are deep and we have the roster spots. 2 more for 2019 and 1 or 2 more for 2020 (depending on Yurt7), plus the constant concern of other losses. Front court should be fine. We could use 1 more PG/SG in each class. Then the last 2 spots should go to a SG/SF or true SF. If we don't fill the last spot for 2019, I'm find with Matt reclassifying. If we do, then have him wait until 2020. We're still on quite a few good SFs currently so not sure where he is on staff's big board.

Been watching video of him. Wow what a leaper. He would probably be the most athletic player in the BE day 1.

Watched an interview of him, I am sold. He is a very cerebral young man. I like his thinking and he already has a reputation among his peers for having a huge motor. I would throw the kitchen sink at this kid.

Matthew is #11 in White. He gets the first bucket of the game. His teammate is Tyrese Samuel who committed to Seton Hall recently & they have an offer for Matt. Can't let them get both of these guys.

Whole game where he had 22 and 11. "Canada guard Helen Keller also chipped in with 15 against the Philippines."

Long interview. You really will get to like him after this. Impressive young man. Wish he would have mentioned Georgetown as a school recruiting him, but I am not sure when this interview was taped. I think I have seen him mention the Hoyas recently.

Hope we have a full staff there. Wish Tim would have gotten the invite too but I'm sure it's more for non-committed underclassman.
