I’ve said it a number of times. It’s blatantly obvious that Qudus is our future At the 5. I’d argue he should be our present, but that’s a different argument. With a full summer of work, this kid has the potential to be a major breakout player in the conference next year. Yurtseven returning would only stunt his growth and limit his playing time. Omer just isn’t really cut out for the physicality of this conference and the style of basketball that Ewing wants to play, on both ends. We’ve got 2 guys behind Qudus that have the tools to be more than capable backups next year. It’s time for Omer to move on While Georgetown continues to get clobbered by the likes of Howard, Powell, and Gillespie, it keeps chasing after the next big man. You’ll get no argument from me on this point. Agree 100%. I’m talking in terms of playing the cards we’re holding right now.

Yes, Qudus will be our future 5, but if Omer stays we will be better off next year. As the numbers show, Qudus has been inconsistent. Besides, I could see Omer being a 4 to Qudus at 5. If Omer leaves, as several posters have written, we will need an experienced big/pf to come and help. Who knows how ready Tim and Malcolm will be by next year and Pat cannot risk another inconsistent season. He needs more weapons, not less.

I missed the part where the top 4 KenPom offenses in the country (Kansas, Duke, Gonzaga, Baylor) have non-traditional bigs.
Having four scholarship centers on a roster is a problem. Looking for (and playing with) a great one is not.

I like Qudus, but expect to miss Omer’s contributions. Wahab is still a work in progress.

Omer has had plenty of time to develop. He will take his tools to the next level somewhere.
When Qudus gets to be a junior I believe he will be incredible!

I love Qudus's game. Big and strong, works hard and has a nice touch. I am very excited with the potential of our 5's for the rest of this year, and hopefully next year as well. I think both Omer and the Hoyas would both be better off with another year.

Unless Omer can successfully show he can defend if he stays another year then I'm not sure another year in college would help him. He has flaunted his ability on offense already (except for the 3 ball) and I don't see him suddenly becoming less soft on both ends of the court. I'd almost rather see Q get the chance to start and develop.

Right. Because yurtseven is such a stalwart defender. 🙄

Q seems to get better every game and I have no doubt he can be an elite defender/rebounder. It takes a while for high school kids to completely understand the complexities of high level college defenses. There is a lot more asked of them at this level than in high school. He seems to be getting better and utilizes his athleticism well to help protect the paint. He has a chance to be a really good player and play at the next level if he continues to develop.

Right. Because yurtseven is such a stalwart defender. 🙄 He wasn't asked to compare Qudus to Yurtseven. He was asked about Q, who is a good defender for a freshman but needs improvement.

Also, back to the game for a minute, Q had 10 pts 5 rebounds in 10 minutes. Went to the basket strong time and time again
Keep up the good work

Wahab is a massively efficient player, something I love to see. I think he'll be a really good player for us. I like that he takes mostly high-percentage shots close to the rim. If he starts taking more baseline jumpers (he occasionally has), that will not be a good development.
Other highlights: Wahab's Big East turnover rate is an astounding 6.7, which is ridiculously low. And great. And his offensive and defensive rebounding rates in Big East play are fantastic as well. I look forward to seeing more from him.

He needs to cut down on his fouling and improve his passing/court awareness on offense. If When those skills improve he'll be really fun to watch.

We need to start seeing much more of him. I want 20 mins a game - it'll pay dividends next year, as this year is basically a closed book at this point. Patrick needs to start doing everything possible for next year in my opinion, especially if we go on to lose Sunday or the following game. Simply put, Wahab is everything Yurt7 is not, and I for one don't think we look much worse with him out there. A lot of the time we actually look better.
