Local kid that's blowing up, deserves his own thread... Maybe Allen can be the basketball version of Apple prior to their manufacturing of the first iPhone; yes, some knew about it, but if you bought, man, are you looking good! Arguably the top breakout performer over the weekend, he's now 6-foot-6. He can really, really shoot the ball and is a fluid athlete who creates off the dribble as well. Allen walked into Springfield with only an offer from Howard and some ACC interest. A year from now, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see practically the entire ACC on board with an offer on the table for the versatile sophomore. With his team missing their top player, Yale-bound forward EJ Jarvis, Allen stepped up and in a major way. Finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds, Allen is a major, major talent who will make an impressive debut in the 2021 rankings next week. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/hoophall-classic-sophomore-and-junior-stock-boosters

He's fine, but right now I think he's more of an A10 guy. I may feel differently in a year, considering I didn't think Saddiq Bey was a high major guy as a sophomore, but he'd Allen would have to make a similar jump.

Apparently he got a Georgetown offer last night.
Saw him play again and I don't think he's at our level, or even a definite mid-high major guy, but I'd probably be better served seeing him in a year. I didn't think Josh Hart was a high major kid in the same league as a sophomore, but he came back as a junior playing like a monster, so who knows.

Wow that is some pretty good information to make it sound like he is a Georgetown lean. I hope Pat can stay on him, keep getting him to games and maybe get an early commit. Sounds like a wing that can stroke it.
I haven't seen him play and it sounds like some of you have, so I can't really comment on whether or not he is good enough, but if he starts taking visits to UVA and VT among others, I hope Pat keeps the foot on the gas. Hate losing DC kids.

I trust Pat and Co's evaluation enough at this point that if this kid wants to be a Hoya, let him commit early. No harm in letting kids verbal early, they are non-binding so if anything changes from either side, everyone can move on. If nothing changes, then we've got a stud locked up early and ready to contribute.

Corey Evans @coreyevans_10 Top-50 sophomores Efton Reid & Quincy Allen are on campus at Maryland today If he is top 50, he is VASTLY overrated. Not a bad player, but come on.

Me thinks he should be our #1 target in the 2021 sf class. Have to keep him home. A winning season/ncaa berth this coming season would sincerely help our case.

I think he should be a target and someone we go hard after. But #1 target... it is still too early for that I think. Lots will change in his development, other kids emerging and program needs. But nothing wrong with making him feel like he’s priority numero uno.

But nothing wrong with making him feel like he’s priority numero uno. Maybe he makes a big leap this summer and he has the frame, but I saw him a couple of times this winter and if you had told me he had zero offers, I'd have believed it as much as if you had told me he had a Georgetown offer. If we want to be a top tier program, kids like this are NOT your #1 target. Again, a lot can change in a year, but the '21 class is full of kids who are better than him right now. At the same time, I'm just super confused by these big time offers to kids who didn't do much in Qudus Wahab's league this winter. Allen had decent stats but wasn't a dominant player by any means. Benny Williams, another 2021 kid we offered, never had a game in double figures! If you're a Sophomore getting HM looks and you're playing comp where there's ONE D1 kid, at most, on the other teams, you should show out.
