It's more about minutes than who starts. Our starts have been good nearly every game.
3 used to switch his starters at half from time to time and that works also.

Starting means nothing. I agree the team has come out to great starts so no need to make the change. Don't see the need for the switch in the lineup. LeBlanc's energy off the bench changes the game when he comes in. His energy is contagious. The minutes will bare out by who is playing well. LeBlanc no matter what will get his minutes...

This article has some incredible stats. With LeBlanc on the floor, opponents score 0.93 points per possession and without him 1.04. That is an astounding difference for one player and shows why he's so important and needs to play as much as possible. He similarly boosts the offense. (I realize this is pretty obvious to anybody who watches the games, but interesting to see how much of a difference he makes.)

Wow. Confirms everything my eyes are telling me. He's a difference maker.

Let’s face it- Govan, Mourning and Pickett are not strong on the defensive end. Josh is an absolute beast.

FROSH DOUBLE-DOUBLES SINCE 2000
Michael Sweetney 6 (00-01) Jeff Green 5 (04-05) Greg Monroe 4 (08-09) Otto Porter 3 (11-12) Roy Hibbert 2 (04-05) Marcus Derrickson 2 (15-16) DaJuan Summers 1 (06-07) Josh LeBlanc 2 (18-19) * active
Only Roy and Josh were not starters - I think Roy started half his freshman year games? And, we are only 10 games into the season.
However one looks at it, Josh is in some pretty good company and we are really lucky to have him! Thanks DJ
Congrats to Josh and just keep it coming!

The kid just goes and gets the ball on offense and is a stud on defense. Great player to have on top of the press. He altered a number of shots last night resulting in air balls. What a gem.

I would not be surprised to see Coach Cooley invite this young man at the end of the season.

Love that accounts like Overtime feature Mac and LeBlanc frequently. Kids love it, and it definitely doesn't hurt when it comes to recruiting and showcasing our youthful talent and athleticism.

I may be wrong but I think he is the only Hoya not to have a stinker of a game yet.

I may be wrong but I think he is the only Hoya not to have a stinker of a game yet. Last night really was his “stinker” in many ways. He kicked several balls OB, missed at least two chippies, threw a very poor lob, took an ill-advised 3....And yet he still finished with a double-double and was a huge net positive. There are some fools here and elsewhere who believe starting doesn’t matter. It does. It’s a respect thing for the kids, and it absolutely matters. Sorry, but what’s going on with Ewing-LeBlanc-Mourning borders on coaching malpractice.

His game is based on the energy he brings and that will always be effective in making his team better. It may not always translate into points, but it helps set a tone for the team.

I couldn't find this posted anywhere, so apologies if it already was. #5 is Josh LeBlanc.

Sorry, but what’s going on with Ewing-LeBlanc-Mourning borders on coaching malpractice. Players 1 - 15 should get the same respect. And if you do not believe that the six or seventh man (and others) is not just as important then team concepts maybe missing you. That is some coaches dreams of having a steady five and take things to another level when certain subs come in. To have a big drop off when you sub is a scary thing. One of the most important things you can do with a team is to have players comfortable with the rotations (coach is still working on that). Is Josh capable of starting, yes. Is he capable of being that spark plug off the bench, yes. The most important minutes are those players that you can depend on to bring you down the stretch. A player with a lot of minutes know that is the real respect time.

www.basketball-reference.com/about/bpm.htmlWhat is Box Plus/Minus? Box Plus/Minus (BPM) is a box score-based metric for evaluating basketball players' quality and contribution to the team. It is the latest version of a stat previously called Advanced Statistical Plus/Minus; it is NOT a version of Adjusted Plus/Minus, which is a play-by-play regression metric. BPM relies on a player's box score information and the team's overall performance to estimate a player's performance relative to league average. BPM is a per-100-possession stat, the same scale as Adjusted Plus/Minus: 0.0 is league average, +5 means the player is 5 points better than an average player over 100 possessions (which is about All-NBA level), -2 is replacement level, and -5 is really bad.
