Honest Question Here: Does Gtown Practice and Watch Film, Etc as much as the Other Patriot / Ivy teams?
I assume YES, at least I would hope that we actually practice just as much as Alabama or anyone else in FCS / FBS - b/c it NCAA controlled....
I don't know - I'm just trying to figure out if its really that we have lesser quality athletes than the schools that we play, b/c from a Size perspective we seem to match up much more equally than we did in say the early 2000's when playing Patriot / Ivy teams.
FYI - I watched the first half today and just have maybe two suggestions for the Offense and I'm not trying to make this a joke:
1) Scrap the Balanced Approach that HAS NOT WORKED for 20 years - Recruit and Implement something unique like the Academies (Triple Option)
2) Scrap the Balanced Approach that HAS NOT WORKED for 20 years - Recruit and Implement something aggressive like The Air Raid offense (throw 95%)
I mean why not at this point, what has been done year after year isn't working!!!!
For those not aware - the Triple Option was created for smaller / quicker offensive linemen, using pulls / traps to offset their being undersized.

You have not been watching for 20 years if you haven't seen us try the option...and basically everything else at some point.

Im not talking try the Option on occasion, I'm talking full commitment to it like Army, Navy run...OK and TX did back in the day!
When PoD did we run a full on Triple Option offense?

From looking at the stats of this game it seemed pretty even except when you saw the third down efficiency. Brown: 11-21, GU 2-13. The time of possession was about equal.

On Sagarin, we are ranked 244 out of 255 teams. It is embarrassing.
I think we either need to (a) devote more resources so that we can compete with peers (i.e., Patriot League), or (b) consider disbanding the program. If I were DeGioia, I would tell interested alumni that they either need to raise X funds so that the program can be competitive, or that's it.
I realize football will never be to Georgetown what basketball is, but when you have a game against an Ivy League school, and the thread for it has 5 posts, two of which are from the Admin starting it, and then posting the score, it is a good indicator that there isn't enough interest to sustain the program at this level of resources.

I think leaking the idea that they're considering disbanding the program is the only thing that might move the needle with alumni and lettermen.

Alumni and Former Lettermen will NOT throw money down a secrete well....vision and communication by the Admin are a MAJOR issue!
If Pres and AD gave us, raise $1m in 2019 and it will go specifically towards X, Y & Z in 2019 - 2020....with a vision of A, B, C in years to come.
Then in 2020, they with the same clarity asked for $1.2m towards.....it really might happen, but the constant lack of vision and communication in addition to the you've already burned me once by many involved in the initial raising of funds for the MSF 15 years ago.
Hard to overcome without a HUGE change in the Admin in terms of Vision and Communication - IMHO!

There's no plan to improve or change anything.
