3 college* games, sorry. So you’re projecting him to DEFINITELY go pro, in 2 years or less, based on AAU and high school? Kenner? Am I the only one seeing this? I'm not going to get into a back and forth with you over this. Akinjo has the speed, quickness, ballhandling, playmaking and defensive ability to play at the next level. He's good enough to get there before his senior season, if he works hard enough. That's my opinion. If you think differently, that's cool. I agree with you Daytona. It's not based off any one game but the skill set and the belief that next year he will be one of the best guards in the country....the kid is a grinder and once he understands what he can't get away with on this level he is gonna be a problem...

If you meant the former, we agree. But that’s not what you said. Again, I hope he gets there and I love his game, too.

To pick nits, my reading of Daytona's initial post that suggested we might not have James for "3 more years" meant 3 years AFTER this one, meaning he might leave after his junior year.

My argument remains the same. Yeah I know. I don't watch many of the recruiting videos, nor can I evaluate pro potential very well. On the other hand - if James develops so much that he can go after 3 years, gotta be a good look for the program and the staff, right?!

Placing a definite probability on it is what I object to.

6’4 ’19 Damion Baugh The most impressive prospect from the second contest in the Freddy Johnson Gymnasium was Baugh, who possesses truly next-level size, vision, and playmaking abilities at the point guard position. He’s very intelligent and reads the floor with clear poise on every single offensive possession. Baugh’s natural ability to navigate through traffic is very impressive, especially given how often he enters the paint. He’s not much of a scorer, but mainly because it’s not necessary for him to be successful. www.phenomhoopreport.com/2018/11/16/23777/

I want this kid in blue and gray. I don't know our chances with Penny getting Wiseman but it would be great teaming him up with Akinjo. He's probably a backup to Cole but it would suck to lose this kid chasing a bigger fish...especially if that bigger fish really wants to wear a lighter shade of blue...

Damion definitely seems like the type of player Coach Ewing has been prioritizing. He is very athletic and plays with passion and energy. Would be a great addition to the team and I think he would see significant minutes next season. With Kaleb and Greg graduating I can see Jagan playing more minutes at the 3 next year in a small lineup and Damion would really help with adding another strong ball handler to the guard rotation.

Any more word on the recruitment of Baugh? He is considered a lock down defender at the guard position and I would love to see what a player like that could do on the floor with LeBlanc. The energy and defensive ability of Leblanc changes the game for the Hoyas when he is in the game and adding another player like that at the guard spot, who can keep opposing players out of the paint, would go a long way to this team playing the way Coach Ewing wants them to play. Right now the team plays two players who are below average defenders (Trey and Jessie) which makes it hard for the team to consistently pressure the ball and create turnovers and opportunities in transition.
I imagine the staff sees Malcolm Wilson as a plus defender/shot blocker at the center position (maybe not next year but later on in his college career) and adding more high end defenders/athletes could change the way this team plays.

I completely agree...he seems to have a very attractive game, and elements of which we can really use...A+ defender at 6'4 and a very good penetrator/passer...may not be a knock down 3 pt shooter at this point (and I don't know that he isn't), but that can be developed...it may be hard to get him away from Memphis (although Wiseman is very likely one and done), unless academics plays a big role in his recruitment...

While our defense has been soft, we need kids that can put the ball in the basket. Give me athletes.

Would be nice to see him make a few jump shots. He is scoring at a good clip, over 20 per game, but it looks like it is mostly attacking the rim.
