Would be shocked if it's the Hoyas. Is it good that he sets a date immediately after his visit? Not so much when it is more than 3 weeks away!

His mom tweeted today that they will wait to make a decision. Original plan was to announce on Nov 1st.

Any reason given for waiting?

Not for sure. Mabe wanting to wait till the season is over to see how teams actually look on the court. Just a guess.

One of my best friends is an Illinois Grad and has a couple ties to the athletic department. Said he was told Shannon's entourage is rubbing Illinois coaches the wrong way and they are starting to back off now. He was all but headed there a couple weeks ago. Could be a good thing for G'Town.

Not for sure. Mabe wanting to wait till the season is over to see how teams actually look on the court. Just a guess. If you are a solid prospect it is rare a team will hold a slot through the season, unless it is 90% a done deal. Nov 1 is signing day and then things usually shake out quickly from there. Sometimes there is a delay when a player isn't sure if he will be recruited over and wants to know he is "the guy". There are exceptions, but often if there is a spot for a solid player and a need that isn't filled on signing day, that spot usually goes quickly. A player usually wants to pick where he sees his best fit if he is solid and make sure it is his spot. It could be his top choice is where he is the second choice so is waiting to see where the cards land. But, who knows. It is all people and people aren't consistent.

Sounds like his mom is very in control of this situation which might be good for us. Moms always love GU.

They announce about two weeks ago that they are waiting to announce. Don't know when yet.

FWIW the Illinois insider on 247 just gave a crystal ball on Shannon to Illinois. Zero CBs for the Hoyas.
He has a pretty good record of CBs, but most are bogus last minute ones to hop on the train.

Don't have a great feeling on Shannon. His recruitment seems like it's all over the place. He had a commitment date, changed it, now he's has a top 6 with North Carolina involved
I have a better feeling about Gardner. Crystal ball still shows Xavier the favorite to land Gardner.

No doubt he is a talented player, but he has been all over the place with his recruitment. If the Hoyas had a choice, and I am not saying they do between these two kids, I would rather see them pursue Gardner. He seems to be more like the type of kid Coach Ewing has been recruiting. Guess we will see how it plays out soon enough.

When it comes to the wings, the staff is either gonna go after Shannon/ Gardner or wait it out and see what opens up in the spring after the season is over.
