The great thing about Wilson is that there's no pressure on him and the team doesn't desperately need him at this point. Its doubtful he could start effectively for this team this season and his body is probably two years of strengthening before he could even handle 20 plus minutes at the five position. But could he be highly effective in limited spots this season? I think so. Great point. Patrick has positioned both Malcolm and Tim to have time to develop their abilities and skills before assuming major roles.

Can you guys please stop these posts about all of our weapons? I am dehydrating from lack of saliva, and the season is still 2 months away!🤤🤤🤤 A lot of this talk flies in the face of conventional thinking. Georgetown has all of two active players in the top 125 according to one link above (but not Josh LeBlanc) but according to some posts we've got three or four future NBA centers and enough depth to crush every opponent not named Villanova or Duke. Yet the pre-season polls probably have Georgetown as a mid-card Big East team at this point behind Xavier, Villanova, Seton Hall and Creighton and alongside the combustible mixture that will be Marquette in 2019-20. One of these two lines of thinking needs a more realistic look.

Mainly because If you don't watch him play, you won't get it. I don't see a lot of separation in that group of teams tbh. I think all of those teams aside from Nova could be a game or 2 from each other in the standings. Tough league this year for sure. How many bids will depend on how well the league performs in November and December.

But, we will crush them all.

I promise to create a Doom & Gloom And Everything Is Awful thread sometime later.

I think Wilson is a 4, at least for the next two years. He will defend, rebound and run the court. He will be used when the matchup makes sense and with the right combination of teammates (i.e., at least two scorers).

IMO, we'll be better this year than last. So, I guess I'm saying the latter needs a more realistic look.

Don't think Melo was even an option. The players on the board were all from teams currently in this Big East. Still where were Reggie and Otto, both First Team All Americans, Big East Player of The Year and high lottery picks? And every center option should have been a Georgetown one.

You have 15 total. Ewing and Iverson were both 5 points. Mourning was 3. So he had to pick 2 kids that were worth 1 point to round out the team.

I'm referring to the absence of Williams, Porter, Mutombo, Hibbert, Monroe and other Hoya All Americans as possible selections on the Big East board. The people who selected the group of players to be chosen from were spreading the wealth I suppose.

I am curious. why does anyone think Malcolm will trained to become a four rather than a 5? He is the taller of our big freshmen and shot-blocking seemed to be his strength! I would love to see his footwork and ballhandling develop along with added weight and strength. He can run very well and jump high. Great quickness! But, his footwork getting to his jump-shot needs development. My opinion is based upon only a little observation. Does anyone have other thoughts or observations?
