This proves that we don't know about what's going on the Hilltop as far as recruiting is involved. But I do like this pick going forward!

I think UCLA is the least likely as long as Shareef O'Neal is there and Texas is loaded at the PF position.

Here in SoCal it is certainly assumed by many of the UCLA followers that it is between UCLA and Texas. hoping for the best though.

Interesting. He already officially visited UCLA back in June and hasn't committed yet. The door is open just need to get him here for an official.

If Moses Brown doesn't go pro after a yr, I don't see baker going to UCLA.
Don't sleep on Stanford, they have been recruiting alot better here of late.
Texas is the hometown team. Shaka could always recruit.

Wow, look at that. Apart from Texas, you can tell that he really cares about going to a strong academic school. UCLA is the team to beat here but we've definitely got a shot.

Maybe I am wrong, but my sense has always been that Texas is also a very solid academic institution.

Wait I thought the Hoyas were always in the running (legitimately) with Baker but that many here considered him a UCLA-lean. I think UCLA is the least likely as long as Shareef O'Neal is there and Texas is loaded at the PF position. Baker is a better player than O'neal imho, but UCLA is loaded in the frontcourt right now with kids like Cody Riley, Mo Brown, Jalen Hill & O'neal.. He's also better than most of the kids in the Texas frontcourt too, he's very very skilled offensively.. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Will-Baker-has-cut-his-list-to-four-schools-121165809/Texas: I really like Coach (Darrin) Horn and Coach Shaka (Smart),โ said Baker. โThey are great guys and I have a great relationship with them. They tell me I can play inside-out, and that I could be a good fit there. Also, they have produced big guys who have gone in the first round the past two years, and I like that. Georgetown: It is incredible to hear from Coach (Patrick) Ewing. He called me and it was surreal getting to talk to him. I think it is really cool that that he is recruiting me, and they are a good man school. UCLA: I really like Coach (Steve) Alford and Coach (Duane) Broussard and the entire coaching staff. Their message has been that they think I would be a good fit. I think I could show what I could do there playing inside and out, and I think I would be a good fit in their system.

Shareef O'Neal isn't a center. Moses Brown is definitely the key guy at UCLA. I don't get the impression that Brown is a one and done. OTOH, we do have Yertseven next year, and he will have more experience than Brown. So I don't know if Brown being at UCLA cuts against them or not, at least in comparison to us.

Neither makes a difference. Baker can be a high guy in a high low offense.

I wonder if Ewing will sell him on the fact that he will have a chance to play some 4 if he comes to gtown with yurtseven on the roster. Baker is a versatile big that can shoot the ball com the outside.

Maybe I am wrong, but my sense has always been that Texas is also a very solid academic institution. It is, and while I despise all things burnt orange, UT is nonetheless one of the preeminent public universities in the nation. If it were a campus of 20,000, it would be looked upon like Virginia or Berkeley. Instead, with 50,000 students and at least that many slackers that fill that iconoclastic corner of Texas called Travis County, it's not considered elite.
