Great to see Brendan open the scoring. He is the unquestioned leader of that team and deserves that moment. He has also been a great friend to Harry. Well done Captain!! It was a textbook example of elevating and then heading across toward the corner of the goal. Fundamentals!

Hoyas get a first round bye as #13 overall seed, and face winner of West Virginia and LIU Brooklyn. Other seed in our portion of bracket is #4 Louisville, which upset Carolina in ACC final.
Let's keep it rolling, boys!

Would not mind another shot at Louisville on a regulation sized pitch.
Keep working boys.

A fine line for Big East teams. Creighton left out. ACC has 9 teams in.

Let. That. Sink. In. And then let us all give thanks for Brian Weiss, Dave Nolan, and all the assistants, staff, players, and everyone else who made such a thing possible. Frank Rienzo's vision of Georgetown as a place where athletic excellence can be on par with academic excellence has indeed come to pass... in the sport of soccer. Women's soccer was the last of the nine or ten new women's sports that arrived in his tenure, but it arrived two years late. The club team wanted to start in 1991 but Rienzo held off for two years, not without some grumbling from that community. He was aware that simply elevating the club team to varsity would leave them behind the curve competitively and financially in the Big East (much like softball is today), and was trying to close the deal on the Shaw family's initial gift. He got both done so that the Shaw's eldest daughter, Hope (C'94) played on the first varsity team in 1993.

Ed Shaw himself played on the golf team while at Georgetown. And her sister was the daughter-in-law of Frank.
