Your Republican Party The kind of prejudice that Trump exhibits is far more toxic and dangerous. We have a long, ugly history of discriminating against — and visiting violence upon — African Americans, Latinos, Native Americans and Asian Americans. Black people were lynched; whites generally weren’t (though a Jew was, once). Asians were barred from coming here; whites generally weren’t. And while we have made real progress toward a more color-blind society, we are not there yet — and with Trump at the wheel, we are going in reverse. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/republicans-hypocrisy-on-racism/2018/08/05/fee52cae-98d1-11e8-8d5e-c6c594024954_story.html?utm_term=.6039d89f4f91And Boot (former Republican) omits the largest mass lynching (seventeen Chinese murdered) in American history in Los Angeles. In the dim gaslight of recently installed street lamps, armed bands of men dragged cringing Chinese to gallows hastily erected downtown. Bodies soon were swinging from two upturned wagons on Commercial Street, as well as the crossbar of the Tomlinson Corral, a popular lynching spot that just the previous year had been used to string up a Frenchman named Miguel Lachenais. www.laweekly.com/news/how-los-angeles-covered-up-the-massacre-of-17-chinese-2169478

Worker wages are down but look on the bright side, the grifting, conflicts of interest, and unethical behavior in our Government is up! I think back to a simpler time when The President didn't spend 1/3 of his days promoting his businesses, and his son in law (who only has his job because he's his son in law)didn't appear to be using his position to leverage better deals for his personal business..
1) In March 2017, Anbang offered an extraordinary bailout package to rescue the tower and send the Kushners' $400M in cash (By this time, Jared had transferred his interest in the property to his mother and brother but experts called it a "shell game.")
Jared, completely coincidentally, was acting as the administration's main liaison to China. The deal with Anbang collapsed under a mountain of criticism about conflicts-of-interest
2) Charles Kushner pitched the Qatari government on a bailout. They didn't bite. Jared then supported an economic blockade of Qatar by Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
3) On Friday, with the $1.2 billion mortgage coming due in months and traditional financing unavailable, the Kushners got their bailout package from a Canadian company called Brookfield. Their top investor? The government of Qatar.
Brookfield says that the subsidiary involved in the transaction has no "Qatari connection"
4) So who are they investors behind the deal, and do they have interests with the Trump administration?? They won't say.
Stay tuned...

Whack jobs. Your Republican Party. Still, that doesn’t explain why Republicans would be so vulnerable to even the most deranged conspiracy theories, when there’s a far friendlier explanation for everything happening now, namely that Donald Trump is a fantastic president beloved by the people, which is why he won in 2016 and his party controls Congress and most of the power in the states. Why is that the less attractive story? The reason is simple: Conservatives have been trained by the people they trust most to believe that everything is a conspiracy. And not just a conspiracy; a conspiracy against them. www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/wp/2018/08/06/why-the-gop-is-so-easily-infiltrated-by-bonkers-conspiracy-theorists/?utm_term=.1700554a6f83

New Details About Wilbur Ross’ Business Point To Pattern Of Grifting
"If even half of the accusations are legitimate, the current United States secretary of commerce could rank among the biggest grifters in American history."
I thought Trump said if we put a bunch of rich people in Government they weren't supposed to steal and cheat because they already had money?
It appears these folks have been acting corruptly their whole careers and part of the reason they are rich is because they find ways to cheat and steal. The way these guys are acting is so disrespectful to the people that voted for them. They took a leap of faith and all they got was a bunch of corrupt rich people stuffing money in their pockets and ignoring their needs.

As I’ve argued before, Trump is not merely someone who skirts around the rules now and again; he may well be the single most corrupt major business figure in America. He’s someone who operated pyramid-like schemes and con jobs like Trump University targeting struggling people, who exploited foreign workers and used illegal labor, who refused to pay small-business people he bought goods and services from, who did business with the mafia and kleptocrats from the former Soviet Union, whose “foundation” was allegedly a scam, and whose properties are for some reason a prime vehicle for Russian oligarchs and mobsters to launder their money. www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/wp/2018/08/07/rick-gates-wilbur-ross-and-the-lure-of-trump-corruption/?utm_term=.31bc443133ba

Trump has told many lies, but one of the top 2 or 3 has to be "drain the swamp"... This level of corruption, cabinet wide, is unprecedented.

3 of Trump's Mar-A-Lago Club pals have been secretly running the Veterans Affairs Dept for the past two years, despite having no experience or official jobs.
Pay a 200k membership fee, get to run the VA, even though you are not a veteran and have zero experience... As a special bonus you get to do it with no government oversight or public scrutiny. I don't think the guy who thinks this is ok should be the person lecturing people on respecting troops.

YaBoy's link above summarized - the party that rages about elitists is letting people create government policy because they are members of the right country club:

- Wilbur Ross, Trump's Sec of Commerce, accused of stealing $120 mil from past associates.
- Marvel CEO & other Trump friends are running the VA from Mar-a-Lago.
- Chris Collins, early Trump supporting Republican Congressman, charged w/ insider training
The fleecing and unprecedented level of corruption continues with no oversight and nobody willing to put a check on these types of activities...

I guess the GOP and Trump will have to still rely mostly on Fox for its propaganda: The $3.9 billion deal initially aimed to create a conservative broadcasting giant, with Sinclair proposing to control 233 stations in 108 markets nationwide. The original deal would have meant creating the biggest television company in America, adding Tribune’s 42 stations to Sinclair’s roster. And it would have been a victory for conservative media in a turbulent political environment, in which Republican critics have alleged a systemic negative bias on college campuses and social media platforms. www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2018/08/09/tribune-withdraws-sinclair-merger-saying-it-will-sue-breach-contract/?utm_term=.11ec99465664
