The meet will be held next week in Tampa. The men will send 10 men (declarations) and the women two runners.
Women
1500m Piper Donaghu
3000mSC Margie Cullen Meredith Rizzo
(Shannon Meisberger just missed the 400H by 0.6 s. Slim chance that she will go via any pullouts).
Men
800m Rey Rivera Ruach Padhal
1500m Amos Bartelsmeyer Spencer Brown Nick Wareham Jack Salisbury Joshua Bell
10000m Jon Green Mike Crozier Nick Golebiowski
Last year three of the runners were almost shoo ins for the finals - Joe White, Scott Carpenter, and Darren Fahey. These three were enough to give the Hoyas a 12th place finish. I would think Rey, Amos, and Jon pose the best chance to move to Eugene for the finals.

Sabrina Southerland, running for Oregon, will run the 800m in the Western Regionals, and Sam Nadel will run the 5000m representing Oregon too.

It looks as if the Hoyas are not getting a break from the weather again. The Big East meet was plagued with wet weather. Now the eastern regionals in Tampa are in store for wet and hot and humid weather.

Since I will be attending the western regionals (where we should have better weather than the eastern regionals), there will be no timely results posted (lag time of 12 hours perhaps).

They changed part of the schedule (apparently due to the weather) for the eastern regionals.
The men's 1500m results (pending a protest).
Overall placing and place in the heat (top 5 move on automatically plus top four other times)
6. Nick Wareham (also 6th in the first heat; unusually, because it is the later heats that seeing what time they need will speed up) 3:45.81 q (time qualifier, just missed by 0.03 s being a auto qualifier). 11. Amos Bartelsmeyer (3rd in heat four) Q (auto qualifer) 3:47.49 32. Jack Salisbury (9th in heat three) 3:51.99 42. Spencer Brown (8th in heat two) 3:53.63 44. Josh Bell (10th in heat two) 3:55.14
So the Hoyas qualify two for the next round.

8. Ruach Padhal (heat 3, 1st) 1:48.74 PR 16. Rey Rivera (heat 3, 3rd) 1:49.26 both qualified automatically

Thanks for posting the results, Nevada! Great to see so many Hoyas advance. Looks like the 10Ks were delayed for weather.

I guess the weather delay was good for us. Two out of our three entries are going to Eugene.
10. Jon Green 29:29.59 12. Mike Crozier 29:37.81 37. Nick Golebiowski 30:56.79
The name of the game was survive consider the weather and make the top 12. Mike was the last qualifier and I can imagine Jon running faster, but to what avail. You don't want to beat yourself up with finals not too far away.
Tomorrow is the next round of the 800m, so we have two in the field of 24. Again, both Hoyas will be in the same heat, heat #1, along with the favorite Harris from PSU.

On the western front
Sabrina Southerland won her heat in 2:07.80. Not the best time of the day, but again she did not have to run faster. She is going to stay at Oregon to complete her masters and will probably join one of the professional running clubs in Oregon.
Sam Nadel ran the 10000m and finished in the worst position, #13, with the top 12 going to Eugene. Her time was 33:06.61. She is also scheduled to run the 5000m on Saturday. The conditions for the 10000m were cool and windy.

Unfortunately, Ruach and Rey did not make it. But since they are freshmen, they should be able to build on their fine seasons and be able to contest at the eastern and national levels in succeeding years. 20. Rey Rivera (6th in heat one, which was the toughest heat; three of the top six overall came from heat one) 1:49.51 Ruach Padhal DNF I am wondering if he fell or had an injury. Stay tuned.

However, the Georgetown women got some reflected glory on Sabrina Southerland's performance tonight. She only ran the fastest race by a collegian this year. Of course that was a PR.
The first two by time:
1 Sabrina SOUTHERLAND SR Oregon 2:00.72 Q 3 (1) PB 2 Avi' Tal WILSON-PERTEETE FR UNLV 2:01.14 Q 3 (2) PB
The freshman from UNLV was leading heat three until Sabrina passed her in the final straighaway.
Now Sabrina will perform before her Oregon fans.
