A friend of mine that played at Albany thinks that Cremo could struggle at this level, but lately it's tough to bet against Jay Wright.

I saw Cremo play 20 times or more between live games and TV. He won't be a star at this level, but he is a tough, hardworking kid who will contribute. He can blow hot and cold and his defense is lacking, but a good one year, late pickup for Nova.

Jay reaching out to Cremo could be a sign that he thinks D.D. might not be back. At a minimum it s a hedge against that possibility.

Could be a major mistake to focus on a large group of "top 10" prospects. Villanova's formula of getting players "ranked in the 20's - 80's" has allowed them to build roster continuity on kids who buy into the elite level development that Wright and his staff excel in. Chasing these kids who believe they are 1 and done and getting then to completely buy in is going to be extremely difficult. Wright could be repeating the mistakes of 2012-2013 season...

Conference is taking some pretty big hits. Nova still has the top talent, but the rest of the league is wide open.
Hopefully this means our return to the first division will be even quicker than expected.

It's not a surprise that Thomas remained in the draft, is it? From everything I had read, I had the impression that he was likely to stay in the draft, and has a reasonable shot at being a first round pick because of his combination of outstanding D and good outside shooting.

Based upon all the podcasts I listen to he is pretty much a lock to go in the first round, perhaps even the upper half of the first round. There was little doubt about him staying in the draft.

He's 22 so he couldn't afford to wait.

So this means the are going to expand 1 team. I am guessing that it is Uconn but who knows.

So this means the are going to expand 1 team. I am guessing that it is Uconn but who knows. Or did it mean both BEast & Big12 play 18 conference games (have no interest in expanding) and this alliance would offset the difference? Gavitt (Big10) is Game 19 and I would think this (vs Big12) would be 20 games locked in.

Gavitt (Big10) is Game 19 and I would think this (vs Big12) would be 20 games locked in. That was my read as well: If other conferences go to 20, they have fewer slots available for OOC games. So, team up with the B12 to ensure that everyone can get a high-major opponent rather than a filler game. I like that idea.
